I Purchased My Holden Vectra Js Wagon More Than 8
I purchased my Holden Vectra JS wagon more than 8 years ago and apart from the initial electrical problems it's proved to be an excellent vehicle. Despite being parked outside in the Qld sun and rain all day for the majority of that time, the paintwork is still very good and there is absolutely no sign of rust. It is very quiet on the highway, due in part to its' high gearing I suspect, but the performance is fine, even in 5th gear. The idle air control valve has misbehaved twice but it's really pretty easy to remove and clean out with carburetor spray. So long as the timing belt is changed in accordance with the handbook I fail to see why this vehicle should present any problems that are either difficult or expensive to resolve.

Would Not Suggest Buying This Vehicle I Have Had M
Would not suggest buying this vehicle I have had mine for 5 years with nothing but problems, I would sell it but would not want to inflict repair costs on poor buyer.

1999 Js Vectra Wagon - We Got This 2nd Hand With 1
1999 JS Vectra Wagon - We got this 2nd hand with 100000 k's in 2002 and it still feels like new, a bargain at $9800. It's a really fun car to drive around corners and 3rd gear open road passing is fun too. Even at 190+ km/h it feels like it's magnetically attracted to the road. Very economical even when it's thrashed. Would have prefered the series two with the new gearbox as this one isn't the best. Having no rear head restraints is a bit of a concern when I have passengers. It's really solid and the nicest car I've driven. Great value for money.

I Recently Bought A Second Hand Holden Vectra 2001
I recently bought a second hand holden vectra 2001 JS series 2 (the current latest model). I want to know if I am condemned to a faulty car for life!! I have had no problems as yet (the car is less than a year old with 17000 on the odo) but i am extremely anxious about comments left on this website. Does the JS2 suffer the same problems as earlier models or have they refined the problems. Could people please kindly let me know what model their cars are that are having problems. Also does anyone know what's going on with the traction control, the symbol lights up on the dash briefly when ignition is turned on, but there is no switch to turn it on.
Traction control is always on when the car is switched on regardless of whether it has been switched off or not. The Light comes on briefly to test that it is working, if it stays on there could be a problem, just like the abs light. the switch fo a manual is on the right hand side of the radio. And for an automatic it is near the gear shifter. Hope this helps you
