Ea Is The Better Car, Ask Any One Who's Owned One.
EA is the better car, ask any one who's owned one. the Vn was built with a poorly designed V6 motor, with stuff all torque. The rating is for the EA too (8), VN gets a (6.5).
The Person with the comment, "I wish i had the reliability of the ford in their Holden Vn is Absolutely right. Vn's were no more reliable than a EA falcon, its just the owners of VN's like to think so, I know, at least the Ea doesn't leak oil out of a fuckin stupid rope seal at the back of the engine, too.

Vn Commodore, Handles Badly And Too Light. Interio
VN commodore, handles badly and too light. Interior is very cheap and ugly. Rough motor at low speed. Overall rubbish! Compared to the EA Falcon.

Its Not Always Practical If You Lower It Too Much,
its not always practical if you lower it too much, but it handles really good. i got a Holden VN Vacationer wagon 12/90 the auto has always slipped a bit since we've had it (also heavy on fuel and drains power) i just put a series1 stage 2 shift kitted (built for towing) auto box in it. (different ratio box) now its better on fuel, got its full power back its a lot quicker now. and im about to put 3.36 diff ratio in it(currently 3.08). i know family rig old habits die hard. : ) my also idles a bit rough and has little pops or backfires out the tail pipe. ?its all serviced regularly pen rite oils magnetic filters etc...

Performance And Reliability, But Genearally Boring
Performance and reliability, but genearally boring interior, don't drive as well as an EA Falcon. Can be dangerous at high speed cornering due to light weight. Typical early V6 harshness, not nearly as smooth as the same model ford inline 6.

I Had Simmular Problems And Also Had To Run A Bott
I had simmular problems and also had to run a bottle of injector cleaner through my tank. I also notised that a bottle of enginestopleak helped to max conpression in motor allowing me to notice a very small leak/air inlet around one of the the fuel hoses that join the fuel lines/pipes make sure to check them now my mighty VN has max speed/take of again.
I also did most of the other general checks.

I Have Owned My Vn For 6 Months (it's My 1st Car)
I have owned my vn for 6 months (it's my 1st car) and i am extremely happy with it, performance is great for a stock v6 and it is roomy enough 2 do anything. I recommend the VN to anyone who is looking for a reliable/performance/family car at a now small cost.
I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT ALL HOLDEN VN AND ALL OTHER HOLDEN STATION WAGON

I Have Nothing Against Holden I've Driven The Vn I
I have nothing against holden i've driven the vn it's a good car, actually it's really nice, but the EA falcon will rule over the vn no problem. People are too scared to drive them cause they are afraid it might be better and if they do they drive an auto, that's the problem the auto is a very poor make, once you ride the 5 speed manual, it's a whole new car over again, with that bit more oomfff than the v6 competitor. Really the only downfall is its weight, the vn is very light. But the Ea vs VN drag, will prove the EA better! its been done.
"Really the only downfall is its weight, the vn is very light."
What?! There's no such thing as a car that's too light. A lighter car will handle better, will stop quicker, accelerate faster, and use less fuel.
The VN was definitely one of the better Commodores, if you're into that sort of thing. And it killed the EA in almost every respect.
An Ea falcon can not beat the Vn! My wife drives An EA Falcon 5 speed and when I bought the VN wagon 5 speed we decided lets see whats quicker? The EA having a limited slip diff was the better starter (the road being damp after a shower) and the VN only driving of the one wheel you had to baby it off the line, but boy did it gain over the last 100 metres!!! My wife and I swaped cars and she beat me, and I was redlineing the the falcons rings off! this was done over the usual 400m.
yes it has been done befor.
But if you look in the september 1988 wheels magazine you will clearly see that the Vn commodore was way ahead of the EA falcon.
There is even pictures in there to show the big distance between the 2 cars.

Our Holden Vn Commodore Stationwagon Was Running R
Our Holden VN Commodore Stationwagon was running rough tried all kinds of things. Finally, when replacing the fuel pump, found the fuel tank had a heap of red dust sand in it.
Also, after cleaning the engine, resulted in the car computer having to be reset - it kept breaking down for no reason at the time repeatedly.
