Very, Very Pleased With This Car. A Bit More Power
Very, very pleased with this car. A bit more power and 4WD would be good, but is not imperative. Nice to drive, luxurious, quick and economical. I have the SE and have had around 30 cars before. 9/10 all round. Good sound system too. FWD suits me just fine.

I Bought A Used (52 Reg) X Type Recently. I Did So
I bought a used (52 reg) x type recently. I did so after driving my wife's 2002 Rover 75 and thinking that I wanted to get out of my Mondeo and into something a little more refined.Firstly I'd like to say that so far I'm a very happy man however a few things struck me as surprising about the Jag when comparing it to the 75...Unfortunately for me I find that the 75 (which is the base Club model) has a lot more features than the Jag, including such things as climate control, rear air ducts, rear cabin lights, sunroof, steering wheel remote controls, information (for example outside temp), lumbar support, headlight washers etc etc.I would have expected that being a Jaguar - there would have been more "goodies" than there actually is. Cruise Control would have been nice too but alas it doesn't have this either. When comparing the actual drive I'd say that the 75 feels just as good as the Jag (lumbar support helps) and the dashboard just looks a bit more stylish. One area where the Jag comes out on top is the sound system.

I Have Waited 48 Years To Own A Jag And Now I'm Gl
I have waited 48 years to own a Jag and now I'm glad I do. Excellent sound system (most important to me) but Jag should have spent another £600 on a decent sub system and a CD multi-changer. After driving a Jeep for four years this is like driving a cloud. It goes where you tell it and does does properly. Excellent value for money.

Overall The Deal I Got From Jaguar Was Very Good,
Overall the deal I got from Jaguar was very good, and the garage I bought it from gave a good account of themselves. The X-Type is good value for money as a used car the warranty was superb as well as I had to front head lamps go on me at different times they came to my house to change them both their customer care was brilliant.

I Have Owned The Jaguar X Type Now For Six Months,
I have owned the Jaguar X type now for six months, and have nothing but good things to write about it. It is solid when cornering, and always feels like an executive vehicle to drive. The climate control is fabulous, and all the little extras on my vehicle are spot on. Fuel economy is no worse that the Alfa 156 I had previous to this vehicle, and the family love it. I always wondered if I could afford this kind of Jaguar, and now I have one I'm so glad that I managed it.

Owned My Jaguar X Type Since New March 2004 And Ha
Owned my Jaguar X Type since new March 2004 and have done 40,000 miles to date. This is the first car I have owned (Out of 18 new cars since 1985) which has never been returned for warranty work. I have the 'Sport' model and find long distance driving relaxing and comfortable. The handling is very good for a fwd and performance is good, although the automatic slows things down a bit. The 5 speed auto box however is smooth and the J gate is always available if you need to drop down a gear. I bought the X-type because of the great service from the local dealer along with a good deal. My experience with the competition was disappointing.

Had The Jaguar X Type 2.0 V6 Executive Car For 18
Had the Jaguar X Type 2.0 V6 executive car for 18 months and it has spent most of the last 4 months in the workshop. Dealer service poor, to get any repairs authorised you have to wait for a Jaguar technician from the factory to attend the dealer at his conveinence. After waiting a lifetime to own a Jag, I would never buy another. Done 30k miles using 3 gearboxes, 1 set of timing chains, passenger door now wont open, irritating rattle from behind the dash, need I go on. Great looking car but not worth the grief of ownership. To add insult, residual values from the supplying/servicing dealer were horrific. Paid £24.5k for the car and they only offered £13k after 17 months despite all the problems with the car.
