Great Fuel Consumption Car .honestly Iam Tired Of This Skoda
I really loved the car . So i used to put all the parts from showroom ever since i bought. But it gives complaints one by one. Around 7 months back i changed the airmass sensor.problem was black smoke and petrol consumption. Then i ordered it in showroom.they dont have it. then they ordered it from germany. it took almost one month.now again after 7 months car started showing black smoke and petrol consumption.last month i changed its lambda sensor and something related to black smoke. Now iam selling it just for the price of one of its parts. So tell me do i have any chance of loving this car or not. Really after every 2 months car creates problem. I dont know why ? Everything related to a/c and petrol consumption. Anyway those who r buying ,buy it at ur own risk...take care.this is just an experience of mine.............

First Off, I Must Concede That I've Only Had My Am
First off, I must concede that I've only had my Ambiente(105) a week but all early indications are hugely positive.
Economy was one of my main requirements. My first brim to brim mpg test came out at 196 miles (50/50 urban/extra urban) from 14 litres...about 63 mpg.I kept it to 65-70mph on the open road.
The car has done 20k but still feels really "solid" ...engine is a bit noisy at first but more than compensated for by the fact that it feels so assured on the road.
If what other people think of your car is of major significance to you then avoid the Octy. Looks very nice imo but-being a Skoda- it has already caused a few raised eyebrows on the part of some of my more badge obsessed colleagues. Give a dog a name etc..
In the meantime, keep an eye out for me. I'm the one chuggin around with a smug grin on my face.

Highly Recommended To Anyone Who Wants A Excellent
Highly recommended to anyone who wants a EXCELLENT all round car. What else can I say. Go out and test drive one and you will see for yourself. I have my Octavia from new in 2001 and I have had a hassle free drive ever since and I have no intensions of selling it any time soon.

Fuel Economy Is 55mpg Average (including Days Wher
Fuel economy is 55mpg average (including days where I give it some!) - 80k on the clock, breezed an MOT, and the only repair I had to do was to replace the number plate which was cracked when I crashed into a car. Even in the crash, my Skoda was fine! The other car 2.5k repairs!
Awesome boot (reason why I bought it) - 6cd changer, easy to use air con controls (turn the dial!) not the fancy digital things which distract you...
tax is peanuts, insurance is nothing...
Cheap, economical, low tax, low insurance, phenomenally reliable...
I have been in Skoda taxi's with 300k on the clock and always ask the driver if they had any problems, only minor things ever reported!
I want from an RS car, costing £450 a month to run tax insure etc...... to Octavia 1.9tdi which now costs £300....thats paying for the car too at £150/pm and I do 300 miles a week!

My Interest In Cars Extends No Further Than A Desi
My interest in cars extends no further than a desire for reliability, economy and space, so I'm not able to comment on anything technical. I've had an Octavia diesel estate for five years and it has 127,000 miles on the clock, with 12,000 of them being mine. I've been well impressed with it's reliability; it has cost me little in repairs and has maintained a consistent performance which, as far as I am concerned has been excellent. And this is great news, because having to spend money on my car is truly heartbreaking. For a car of this size it has great acceleration, even in 5th gear, although I don't force this because I try and drive for economy, a tactic which has paid off, because fuel consumption is low. I was surprised that I was able to drive a car of this size off the main roads and still obtain between 45 and 50mpg.
The boot is massive, albeit at the expense of some leg room in the back when the front seats are forward, a position which I generally use as I am tall. Leg room in the front is extensive though and with rear passengers I can move the driving seat forward and find an adequate compromise without suffering discomfort.
With the rear seats down, you could hold a party in the back, although this position leaves a step in the floor, which can be a bit of a nuisance if you want to slide a wardrobe in there. There's also a raised section at the back (I'm sure that there's name for it), which has to be negotiated when you're putting heavy stuff in. Here practicality seems to have been sacrificed for design and I would have preferred the traditional estate design of having a flat floor which stays flat to the back of the car. The seats are comfortable but could be better.
It's been great workhorse and on a recent trip to Scotland it sailed effortless along. Other comparable makes and models may be better cars - I don't know - but they are certainly more expensive. I bought this car originally because I'd read good reviews, not least from Jeremy Clarkson who, I seem to remember, was pushed to find anything seriously wrong with it. Fine praise indeed.
If you need a big car which will give outstanding value for money, then I would recommend a Skoda Diesel estate. And don't worry about the name. Skoda have done a good job on making that name look the business and as far as I'm concerned, it is.

Multi Function Computer, Mine Is Always Set At Ave
Multi Function computer, mine is always set at Average MPH. Since using this, I`ve moderated my driving style. Regularly returning 59MPG. Compares with actual overall MPG since I bought it, of 52 MPG. Excellent vehicle for caravan towing. Best car I`ve ever had.
I like the fact that car snobs still under rate Skodas. It keeps the purchase price down. However, this might work against me when I need to trade in.

The Skoda Badge Still Holds It Back In The Street
The Skoda badge still holds it back in the street cred market but the Octavia is a superb vehicle, with good motorway comfort and performance.
I have had two punctures and the ash tray stopped coming up in that slow motion fashion! Which was the only warranty claim.
I am now buying another 1.9 TDi with the later PD engine.
I am not afraid to recommend this car to my family and friends based on my experience and I would certainly not be buying the later model if I had had any doubts.
Also worth noting the both the taxi drivers and police all use them in this area!

All I Can Say Is, Drive One, You Won't Be Disappoi
All I can say is, drive one, you won't be disappointed. I tried and tested the VW Golf before going for the Skoda Octavia, and I was disappointed with the Golf's quality. I had the previous Golf and was happy with it. All I can say now is go test drive the Octavia, you won't be disappointed. I'm not. High spec, good economy, and well built. Don't be a Skoda snob, like a friend of mine, who actually, after my persuasion (eventually), has bought one and he says he can't believe how nice a car it is. No I am not a salesman for Skoda, just a very happy customer.
