I Commute About 300 Miles A Week For Work, Do A Bi

I commute about 300 miles a week for work, do a big family shop and taxi the kids around in it. It's a great workhorse and the 1.5 turbodiesel engine is easy to drive, with plenty of low down pull. Because I do a lot of A road driving, I very rarely dip below 60mpg, which I think is good. It's low on emissions, so Road Tax is only £30. It's insurance group 3, which is lower than my previous car, a 1.2 petrol Fiat Punto, but it drives better, is more economical and is more comfortable too. I bought it from new as a grey import at a non-Renault dealer. It came with alloys, aircon, CD player, which were all extras, but cost me £9999, around £3000 less than the dealer down the road. It did have only 12 months warranty, but anything that went wrong happened in the first 6 months (electrical problem stopped it starting once and another time it opened the driver window by itself whilst in an open air car park for 2 days... both fixed under warranty). 18,000 miles between services. My only bugbear is that the front headlamp bulbs regularly go and they are a pain to get to. It takes a local mechanic 15 minutes, but Renault would charge you £40 labour as they take the front wheel off to get to it! Apart from that, it's brilliant and highly recommended (if you can afford it, go for a higher spec trim as there is a lot of plain grey plastic inside the Authentique!).

Renault Megane 1.5 Dci Authentique. Plenty Of Room

Renault Megane 1.5 DCI Authentique. Plenty of room well designed inside with excellent seating (I have back problems with other cars - but not with seat design. Material used is also excellent. No marks and looks good ).Only replaced wipers at 25,000 and new tyres at 28,000 miles.

I Am Quite Happy With It. I Use Biodiesel Which C

I am quite happy with it. I use BIODIESEL which causes no problems but the cost of spares is high. The main earth lead from the battery broke and cost me 390 which I felt was pricey. Apart from that it does what it says on the tin. Performance isn't fantastic in my opinion, but then again it is a 1.5 D so I didn't buy it for the speed. There are lots of little storage spaces which come in handy and lots of little extra's like auto wipers and lights.

Great Car To Drive, Very Happy With It. Mega Fuel

Great car to drive, very happy with it. Mega fuel economy, great to drive. Very safe, lots of active and passive safety equipment. Average about 1150km on a 60 litre tank. The only bad thing was that I had to replace the headlight bulbs at 65000kms.

The Megane Is An Excellent Car To Dive And Is Very

The Megane is an excellent car to dive and is very cost effective. The Megane is on a 53 plate and so is under warranty which I am grateful for. It has been in the garage more than once needing a new clutch, handbrake and I complete new gearbox all of which should not happen. I would hate to think of the cost if it was not under warranty. When going smooth the Megane is a lovely car to drive.
