I Bought This Peugeot 206 1.9 Diesel Car As Cheap

I bought this Peugeot 206 1.9 diesel car as cheap transport for my 150 mile round trip per day to keep the mileage down on my 407. It's obviously had a hard life 111000miles in 7.5 years but still looks fair. The engine is noisy, economy is currently poor, but it has a few melodies that need sorting before I pass judgement. I am very disappointed in the VED class, but I think that was a mistake based on my ignorance and past experience with Peugeot diesels. I think the EGR will be going in the bin, it's currently blanked off at the exhaust side and performance has definitely been improved.

Great Car For Driving Round Town, And On Motorway,

Great car for driving round town, and on motorway, handles quite well, very efficient, Good looker. Make sure that the previous owner isn't a "larger" person, as springs in the seat tend to compress and stop the seat being comfy.

Great reliable car for the not so performance conscious.

I Am A Driving Instructor And Have Owned The Peuge

I am a driving instructor and have owned the Peugeot 206 1.9 diesel, a 2001 model for 2 years, it has covered 58000 miles and has a hard life at the hands of learner drivers. I average 2000 miles a month and sadly the car is not up to it. The engine in particular is probably the noisiest diesel I have ever owned and has regular failing of the drive belt bearing(every 6-8 months),this is a common fault on this particular engine. There are several blind spots from the drivers position particularly the windscreen pillars. The front seats just don't last as the springs are not thick enough to supporty an average weight over a period of use and simply compress. The front seat runners occasionally jump causing the seat to move backwards, this is caused by poor manufacturing quality and is common across the 206 range. The front seat belts continually catch in the lever at the side of the front seats. Under the bonnet, the windscreen washer bottle leaks(again a common fault with most Peugeot models)I have had it repaired/replaced on several occasions and have now given up on it.
