The New 3.0l Dicor (direct Injection, Common-rail)
The new 3.0L DICOR (Direct injection, common-rail) engine on the Tata Safari is good with enough torque of 300nm. It is pretty capable for cruising on motorways n in cities. The 4WD system is fantastic and is capable of pulling away in almost any condition, where others may fail. However, the still newer 2.2L DICOR engine is a notch up. It has more torque and more importantly, much more power, which was somewhat lacking in the 3.0L engine. The 2.2L engine is of course more fuel efficient (to keep those SUV protestors at bay), much quieter, and more agile.
