On Road - The Mitsubishi Outlander 4x4 2.4 5dr Han
On road - the Mitsubishi Outlander 4x4 2.4 5dr handles better than most hot hatches if you drive it right,
Off road grip - it had a lot more grip than I expected and better than the nissan I was following in the snow (probably due to the evo 4x4 system and selectable auto gearbox)
Boot space is limited but passenger space in the back is good, I have a Mitsubish lpg/dual fuel version, so running cost is equivelent to 40-44mpg but on petrol this drops to just 20.
Dash is stylish, I have driving 700 miles in one day and it is reasonably comfy
I have owned BMW's, Mercedes, Porsches, Land Rovers and VW golf GTI's, and this is probably the best road handling small 4x4 that I have driven.
It has been knocked in the press for not being an evo or shogun if you want an evo or shogun buy an evo or shogun
its also knocked for not having a diesel, so buy the LPG in stead then you get petrol experience without diesel noise for the same running cost
My only complaint is that the power steering is to light which in turn can give a feeling of blandness, I would have also have wanted to see the turbo model in the UK like they have in Holland as the handling could easily cope with extra BHP.
