If You Buy Cafeully - Full Service History And No

If you buy cafeully - Full service history and no evidence of towing you'll have a very reliable ultra practical car. Don't do this and you'll have a nightmare on your hands these vehicle tend to be worked harder than other comparable vehicles, hence they have a not to good reliability image. They do rust, but not if it has been looked after and waxolyed.

It is very easy to service I do my own a full filter kit is 20 pounds - Genuine parts as well.

It will run rings around any other 4x4 offroad - I.e Mitsubishi, Merc,BMW,Nissan and Toymota. And it can tow upto 3.5tonnes no other 4x4 can legaly do that!

Brilliant family car, cruiser ,offroader ,towcar and more accesories than you can shake a stick at. you can even have a hot water shower fitted for overland experditions

Brill To Drive, Very Good Driving Position And 30m

Brill to drive, very good driving position and 30mpg from a 2.5 is good. Parts are also cheap. Have covered 80,000 miles in 2 years, all i have replaced is wear and tear things, brakes tyres exhaust ect..., Cant fault it in any way, Starts Drives 100% and they are easy 2 work on and resonably cheap to buy. I payed £1500 for mine 1 years mot, 2 years later prob still worth £1250!. BUY ONE!

Great All Round Vehicle. If Buying An Older Model

Great all round vehicle. If buying an older model search for one with a full service history. Check brakes, rear boot, and cooling system. Oil needs to be replaced every 6000 miles. If you get to know the vehicle and look after it you'll get reliable motoring.

The Land Rover Discovery Is A Reliable, Simple 4x4

The Land Rover Discovery is a reliable, simple 4x4, with excellent off road capabilities, and is comfortable and extremely robust.

A good vehicle, for family and fun, great adventure and fun capabilities, needs some cares.

An Overated Status Symbol For The Rich. Bought Min

An overated status symbol for the rich. Bought mine 2 years ago, sold it after 12 months, at a loss of 3k. In that year had spent nearly 3k on failed central locking, wiper motor, electric areial, leaking boot, severe rust in boot floor, chasis rot, nackered shox, warped discs, headgasket replacement, seized waterpump, failing transfer box. Only for the rich, you feel great driving it, but if you are middle class, you can't afford to run it. Give landrover a miss, and buy japanese!

discovery xs man

I found this review not helpful because...It is obviousley written by someone who wants a new car at a secondhand price, they have totally missed the point of a discovery, it is for people who need to drive on either unmade roads or completely off road, generally people that live in or on the outskirts of rural towns and need to get about in all weathers, japanes vehicles are better on road but can't even come close to a landrover vehicles in a rural situtation.

Landrovers are owned by all classes of people, it's a vehicle not a tool to have a dig at peoples class status.

we are better off without your sort in the worlds greatest vehicle.

they wouldn't still be going if they were crap 1948 - present day...

I Decided To Purchase A Land Rover Discovery Becau

I decided to purchase a Land Rover Discovery because I thought I was buying into rugged reliability and a vehicle which would serve a family of 2 adults and 5 children in the semi-arid environment of Cyprus to which we we have moved recently. The car's first original engine failed within 1 month of purchase due to a deteriorating 4th cylinder, so I had a second engine with guaranteed mileage installed from a reputable reseller. Since then it has suffered from numerous faults including defective multi-function unit, front brake caliper seizure, warped front discs, reversing light switch, central locking failure, key fobs, rear electric windows failed, blown head gasket and now the second engine has overheated and disintegrated because of a cooling system failure. I haven't managed to drive any further than a 60km round trip without something going wrong. It's cost me £350 a month for the last 10 months to keep on the road. My advice is they're pretty 4x4's but not worth the trouble - Buy a Japanese alternative!

I disagree with this review because...i think the discovery and all landrovers are great bits of kit, as long as you do your homework before buying one you will have a trusty truck for years to come. people who slag off landrovers have bought a bad one because they dont know what they are looking for
