Have seen some unfavourable reviews so thought it useful to share my experience. Yup, after I hit "Pay Now" and received the e-mail asking for documents, my heart sank. However - a little apprehensively - I followed their instructions on a Wednesday afternoon and duly received my plates Friday morning. I selected a water bill and tore out the tiny section of the new V5 document (marked V5C/2) which has no personal details on it. Collectively, a reasonably benign set of documents if they were to fall into the wrong hands. OK, so an extra £1.70 for the recorded delivery but the supplier did follow through with my order, and quickly. Hope that helps!

Had plates ordered via Plates by Post. The plates are made by Platinum Plates. Don't know if they are linked. Had an issue with the back plate. Emailed both, phoned both - only reply was once I had the phone on for nearly a minute. Promised to send a new plate. Never had it. No replies to any emails. Forget the words about quality and contacting them. They take your money and run. AVOID.

Ordered plates from them, never got them, no chance of refund. almost rude reply to complaint.

Whatever you do read the small print hidden at the bottom of advert.

Under no circumstances use Platinum plates or Plates on line (same company)

As a post script they expect you to send original docs to them for verification, something I would never do.

For Gods sake avoid like the plague

I can't recommend Platinum Plates highly enough. From securing the reg plate for far less than a rival company to sorting all the paperwork out, Platinum Plates did all the work for me. I am now the proud owner of the plate I always hankered after. I recommend Platinum Plates to anyone wanting a private reg. plate. Ten out of ten for both value and service.

Someone cracked my numberplate whilst parking, leaving a chip in the corner. You can get a ticket for that so I wanted to replace the numberplate as fast as possible. I went online, compared a few prices and found that while Platinum Plates were not the cheapest (although only about £3.50 in it, so not exactly crippling prices), they were DVLA-registered (not everyone is) so I knew the plates would meet legal requirements and the flag badge looked quite smart because other suppliers' badges didn't reach to the edge of the plate. Anyway, this transaction went extremely fast. After they'd checked that I was entitled to use that registration number they sent me the plates next day. Hopefully that's the last time someone cracks my numberplate, but if it does happen again I'd reuse this quality and helpful service without a second thought.

Very smooth transaction & attentative service from Platinum Plates. I would use again & recommend to others. Definetely my first choice when buying private plates.
