Shark Evoline
Great touring Helmet. Regardining the other guys review about it being dangerous . . . absolute nonsense. Yes it's probably a little breezier than a full face helmet, but the whole point of this helmet is the ability to flip the chip back and ride with an openface. It's certainly not dangerous and I can understand why they haven't been able to help him.
Having said this . . . it is pretty heavy, and venting isn't great, and the sun visors scratches easily.
Having said that . . . . I'm on my second one, so it's doing something right.
Mr Mark
To anyone who reads Marks REVIEWS please note i am the retailer Mick Byrne Who sold the helmet to him and as a retailer i am here to help if a problem occurs.. We will do everything which is expected of a retailer to resolve any issue and more were we can but there will alway be a case were a problem cant be found and a solution which might not be favourable to you which in all the years i have been trading has only been 3 times within 7 years.. This matter was investigated by the trading standard and the helmet was tested by Shark in france and no problem could be found... What more can i do... as a retailer.
Please note that this particular customer had the helmet nearly a year to the date before the complaint was made... and he insisted that a replacement for the serie 2 was made for the series 3..
I find it ironic that you have complained so much about the shark helmet the evoline that in every corressponce you have made with me that you have insisted in a replacement of the Newer Evoline Series 3.. this so call very dangerour helmet
You have a answer for everything.. The helmet went back to shark Twice replaced the visor everything was done to help you even the Trading Standard said you didnt have a case....
I hope that people who read this will see it for what is is.. A unhappy customer taking revenge in the only way he can...
Mick Byrne
You dont know what you are talking about. My complaint was not that they are breezy when opened, what kind of complaint would that be. These are dangerous and blow air in your eyes affecting vision, so much so that i neraly ended up crashing my bike. END.
I can only assume your comments are made as one of the retailers selling these helmets.

Beware Of The Shark
Dear Reader
I am writing this letter to share my recent experience of my purchase of a Shark Evoline Series 2 Helmet from Mick Byrne motorcycles in Mansfield. I have a serious and dangerous problem with the helmet that nearly killed me and am totally disgusted by the after sales service by Mick Byrne and Shark. I upgraded to a Shark helmet due to the high levels of safety being advertised along with the 5 Year warranty that are sold with these helmets. I purchased the helmet a year ago and it has been in use for about 6 months and i have a constant blow of air directly in my eyes when the visor is down. I persevered with the seal lube as i thought it was a bedding in issue with this new type of seal being used. As the darker mornings approached , I no longer needed to use the sun visor and this made the problem worse as the internal visor deflected the air flow a little. The upshot is, that whilst going to work one morning in the dark on the motorway, there was so much distraction caused by the air in my eyes that I nearly ran straight into a lorry that had slowed down. I could not see where is was going. I took it back to Mick Bryne shop in Mansfield who sent it away to Shark. The first time they just sent it back. The second time, they changed a visor and re-lubed the seals and I was advised by Mick in his shop that he nor they can help me any further, despite having a 5 year warranty. I asked to talk to the shark rep whilst in the shop and would not talk to me. I have written to Shark complaining via their customer service website and no response at all. I wrote to Mick giving him 3 option.. like for like replacement, full refund, or replacement of a difference helmet and I pay the difference. His reply was that they cannot help me further and the problem is “problem could be caused as a result of your faring / bike or screen or even the position you are in when riding”. Quote Mick Byrnes email.
Clearly if there are restrictions in the usage of these helmets as I have now been advised, surely, the manufacturer and the retailer should be making you aware of this at time of purchase. I have no faith in Shark nor Mick Byrne who is the retailer and clearly these crash helmets are not Fit for Purpose if problems can arise as a “result of your faring / bike or screen or even the position you are in when riding”. Quote Mick Byrnes email. This helmet is Dangerous and nearly killed me and neither the retailer nor Shark, the manufacturer are interested in resolving.
I want to make your readers and fellow bikers aware of the potential safety issues with these helmets and the shoddy after sales I have received from Shark and Mick Byrnes whom I handed over my hard earned cash for a Crash Helmet supplied to me with a 5 Year warranty. They can then make their own mind up if this is fair treatment and they know in advance the treatment I received and what they can expect to receive if they are unfortunate enough to have a problem and have to take their purchase back.
It just goes to show that persistance pays and a resolution was found. Thanks to Mark Eilledge and thanks to Shark for resolving this for me.
OH YES just shows what happens to anyone who has a warranty issue just bombard the supplier with e-mails and it just shows that you will get a refund replacement as in this case.. I find it disgusting that the Nevis(shark) have done this behind my back and after all the claims that this wasnt a warranty problem and we would surport the dealer.....
PLEASE NOTE I AM NO LONGER A SHARK DEALER....
Quick update, after many months of this saga with my Helmet has now come to an end. I had a call from Shark Tech Services manager Mark Eilledge who agreed to meet me in the local Starbucks for a coffee. To cut a very long story short, Shark agreed to supply me a brand new replacement / upgrade as a gesture of goodwill , so in the end the Manufacturer (Shark) came good. This was supplied as a gesture from them without prejudice, so i am happy and so are they.
It just goes to show that persistance pays and a resolution was found. Thanks to Mark Eilledge and thanks to Shark for resolving this for me.

The Perfect Touring Helmet Three Helmets In O
The Perfect Touring Helmet
Three helmets in one - Full face, 3/4 face and open face.
Previously, I wore a flip-face and liked to ride with it up but knew this was both not legal and not safe. The Shark Evoline Series 2 was the answer with it's unique chin guard that rotates over and behind the helmet. I especially appreciate the built-in sunvisor which eliminates the need for sunglasses. Yet there is still room if you want to wear them. This helmet is perfect if you need to wear prescription glasses for riding. It also has excellent side visibility. Despite other reviews I read, the helmet is quite cool and ventilation adequate.
Negatives: Not a sports helmet, but perfect for tourers or cruisers. It's a little noisy but most modular's are.
Overall: I ride a Honda ST1300 and this helmet is brilliant for an upright body position.
