Squire Ex-Caliber Chain 16mm

I bought the Squire Ex-caliber 16mm chain and Squire ss65cs lock for £140 with free ground anchor. This lock and chain was delivered in a couple of days and the first thing you notice is how big and heavy it is and how silly it makes normal security chains look. The links only just fit through the hole in my swinging arm.

The chain is well made and the protective sleeve is standing up to wear very well. The Squire ss65cs padlock fits the chain nice and tight and is a very robust and well made padlock.

This chain is sold secure gold and advertised as uncroppable with bolt croppers. It would be noisy and take time to even angle grind the chain.

The only down size is due to the weight and size this chain is not very portable so is permanently where the bike is stored.

If you have spent thousands on a bike this is a small price to pay for a quality chain and lock that when used with a good ground anchor will give you another good line of defence.

I would definately recommend this chain and lock.

And remember to lock your bike with the chain off the floor and tight to the bike through the frame or swingarm if possible, back wheels can easily be removed.
