Ring Automotive RSC516 Smart Charger

I bought two Ring RSC516 Smartcharger. These are a fantastic piece of kit. It does what t says on the box. However, I attached mine to the battery under the bonnet of my car and closed the said bonnet. I returned the following day and opened the bonnet. Unfortunately it had been raining during the night and a few drips got on to the Smartcharger. Needless to say this didn't do the charger much good. Blue smoke was blown out of the cover by the internal fan and it was quite clear that the circuit board was blown.

My disappointment with the Ring company came about when I discovered that they do not have a repair service. This rather expensive new charger was now defunct. I'm no electronics expert but I'm quite sure that this would be a minor repair. Ring technical department did suggest trying to get a repair company on the internet but I found none that did small charger repairs.

It is such a pity that a very good product is not backed up by an effective after sales service, even for plonkers like me who get the electrics wet.
