Terrible
Terrible.
This was my 4th car from Hilton Garage over the years and what started as an impressive outfit have declined considerably and now operate like a dodgy back street car dealer from the 80's.
So I bought an A7, reg A7XYO, from them.
I highlighted some paint repairs and a tyre with a chunk out of the sidewall that needed replacing to the salesman which was agreed as was the full asking price.
Waited (an unnecessarily long) 2 weeks to collect the car only to find the the tyre was still on the car and the paint looked like it had been touched in by a child with their fingers. In the wrong colour too.
Conveniently the original salesman wasn't available however salesman 2 was happy that, although in his words the touch up "wasn't the best", it was acceptable and I should take the car as is. As the car was a 2015 I should accept the accident damage to the bumper as normal, he said (!)
The tyre, he had been told, now wasn't sufficiently damaged to warrant a replacement. (Would you buy a performance car to put your kids into and be happy to drive away with a 2" chunk out of the sidewall, especially with a replacement tyre being previously agreed?)
Later the sales manager disagreed with Salesman 2 and reconsidered the paint repair (but should it have needed arguing for - they had 2 weeks and its terrible - where are their quality standards that they trumpet so loudly?) but still refused the tyre replacement.
No doubt in the response below, if they bother, they will say the tyre was perfectly ok with a chunk missing (!) but the point is that a replacement was agreed with the salesman but not honoured. Their opinion later on the safety of the tyre is inconsequential - a replacement was agreed at the point of order.
Apparently he must have forgotten to write it down on the job card...or I was wrong - must have been one of these two?
I asked the sales manager to contact him for confirmation of this agreement but he didn't.
Maybe customers need to record sales people here to ensure promises are not made and then broken?
In summary the reasonable prices have kept me going back to Hilton but they are happy to lose an £19k sale, a 4x repeat customer who now changes cars every year and all my friends & family as potential customers over a tyre. This is the kind of company Hilton now appears to be which is a shame.
I am warning all against Hilton's shoddy practices on various review sites and hopefully you will reconsider them too. Be very careful here.

If They Sell You A Duff Car, They Will Keep Your Money.
I bought a Vauxhall Insignia Grand Tourer Sport VX-line SRi for £14k in Jan 22. The car immediately had a problem with the clutch. They attempted to fix it and returned the car. Over the next four months, the car was returned to them THREE more times due to the clutch problem and water ingress on the boot lid. After five months, the clutch problem seemed to have gone away. On month ten, the problem came back again, and the car was undriveable. At this point, the car has been faulty five out of the ten months I had owned it. I sent the car back and they confirmed that the clutch issue was still present and they would accept the car back as rejected. At this point, I had no problem with Hilton Garage as these things happen sometimes. However, they then refused to return almost £3k of the price paid for 'wear and tear'. I had driven 8k miles in the car. They wanted 45p per mile - this is the rate that businesses pay staff for driving their own cars, including insurance, tax, and fuel! Hilton claimed this was just for wear and tear on the car. After much haggling, I still lost £2.2k of my money after months of returning the car and inconvenience. If you buy a car from Hilton, you'd better hope it doesn't have any major faults.

Don't Touch With A Barge Pole
Video available to verify as it arrived on the low loader.
... Don't touch them with a barge pole..... They blatantly don't check cars before selling them after buying from auctions etc I bought an insignia which I returned. I had to buy it unseen due to covid restrictions!! Wrote a truthful review and it's been deleted and I've been blocked from commenting Hilton Garage - Car Supermarket well you can't block me from my own facebook page and and now I'll spend my day writing bad (but truthful) reviews for you on every platform where I have the ability to do so.. trust pilot etc
Even the delivery driver stated how many faults it had.
Vehicle was delivered 2/2/21 at 14.05hrs.
Before the vehicle was offloaded I found a defect with the exhaust and made the delivery person aware of this. Once the vehicle was offloaded I carried out a more detailed inspection and found numerous faults which warrant rejection.
These faults and general condition of the car make me feel that you have not carried out an inspection of the vehicle as advertised on your website, and make me doubt the vehicles road worthiness.
The general appearance and state of the car also show me that you have not prepared the car to a standard which i feel is expected of yourselves.
The faults are as follows..
Damage and holed exhaust which is clearly visible to anyone that had apparently inspected the vehicle prior to sale.
Front and rear Discs excessively corroded.
Low coolant level.
Water leak in boot wheel well.
Drivers side boot trim not fitted correctly, further inspection of this showed a water leak behind this panel.
No tyre inflation kit.
Dent in drivers door.
Corrosion around rear reverse sensor.
Corrosion/contaminate to front alloy wheels caused by running low brake pads.
Scuff on nearside mirror.
Fallout/contaminate (rust spots) over all of the vehicle especially the rear.
The general condition and appearance of the vehicle is not of a standard that I consider acceptable from a dealer such as yourself or in fact any car vendor..
Dog hairs in various parts of the interior.
Mildew/green algae around window edges
Leaves in engine bay blocking drainage channels
Dirt on rear parcel shelf
I stopped looking at this point...

Disgusting
Where do i begin i'm really disgusted with the service and the treatment i've received from this garage especially after being recommended it by a friend.
The salesman made us feel uncomfortable and like we couldn't afford the car he was rude arrogant and had no time for us, the managers were always too busy to speak to us and we kept being fobbed off
after a week i had no contact from them or received any paperwork or a call to confirm the collection of the car or the date
i got told they don't know what my problem is as i've got a good deal on the car i explained again its not about the money its about how they've made me feel and the service i've received as with the warranty the car was costing me nearly over £11,500 if i'm spending that amount of my hard earned money i expect to be treated with better service!
I'm so disappointed as i really wanted the car but after all of this i walked away as i felt if i'm being treated like this now before they have my money what will they be like after!! its made my car buying experience a very stressful one when it all wasn't needed at all
I feel disgusted and will be sure to warn anyone off the place in the future !

Attentive, Friendly And Supportive Staff
I am giving you 5 stars for the after service I have received from you guys. It took me a while to choose which make of car i wanted, so when I came to trade in my old one, I chose to come to Hilton rather than the main dealers as both my husband and myself are returning customers.I returned and chose my car from you instead, as you dont get the pressure sales you get from main dealers. However, when I came to collect it, I experienced a number of mechanical problems with it over thee first few days of owning it. The guys from the service centre came out to me twice, they were respectful, polite and genuine. However due to some unforseen existing problems with the car, I decided I no longer wished to keep it. The service I recieved from a certain young lady from the sales team(as i am not allowed to mention names, although it begins with an E)was exemplory. The time, attention and support I received from her was exceptional. I was loaned a car for as long as i wished until I had decided which car i wished to exchange mine for. When the decision was made, the same mechanics I had dealt with previously, looked after me so well, communicated with me throughout the process, personally overseeing all the small things I wished to 'tweek', and gave me some added extras. Pity I can't mention their names either, but they know who they are. Again thank you for the attentive service and friendly faces.

Disappointed With Car After Purchased
Went Hilton garage to look at a Volkswagen scirocco and was happy with the text drive. I went round the car and pointed out bits I wanted doing with the salesmen. I gave them a week to get the jobs sorted I went to pick car up and it wasn't finished being cleaned so I waited when I wad called to get the car it looked ok but when home and had a closer look it look like it was rushed being cleaned and the bits I wanted doing had only been touch up when you pay £11600 for a car you expect it to look good and the rear tyres are close to being illegal another cost I didn't expect and to pay a fee £98 for a bit of paper it a joke. I personally wouldn't recommend going here out have a better supermarket car shop 15 miles down the road.
Unorganised Time Wasters
Hilton garage is an absolute waste of time, i would not recommend anyone buying a vehicle from or going to view a vehicle from them, on saturday the 11th of feb at 13:46 i rang them asking if a vehicle was still available as it would not be worth going if it wasnt availabe because i am 100 miles away from them, they said yes the car is here we have it in stock i then rang them again at 15.20 just to ensure the vehicle is there before i left they said yes the vehicle is here i then told them id be there soon to come view the vehicle. I got there asked the first salesman i saw and it took him less than 2 minutes to find out its gone for mot, there excuse being we have over 1400 cars and we cant keep track of them all
Such a waste of my time and fuel in travelling for no reason at all

Surprisingly Good For A Car Supermarket
Couldn't find a car I wanted locally, so went on the net and found Hilton Garage. They had several, so decided to take a look (pleased I did.) No pressure from the sales people. Purchased the car I wanted, a few problems with the car were sorted out with no issues. Collected car with no hassle. Three months down the line had EGR valve go which was going to be a very expensive replacement. Contacted Hilton Garage to see if they could help, to my surprise, they said yes, even though the warranty had run out. Very impressed with service. Would recommend to a friend. Thank you.
