Totally Deceptive!! Do Not Go Here
I bought a second hand car from this dealer. It was a red Ford KA collection. I went there with my friend so I have proof of what I am about to say. I fell in love with the little car and the lady who was showing us the car kept going on and on about how great the car was. They did explain that there is no warranty on the car as it was cheap and I had to deposit £100, which was non-refundable. I bought the car four months ago and took it for its MOT and it failed miserbaly on many counts. What it failed on such as heavy corrosion and holes in the car etc were existing problems before I bought the car. They never told me that I was buying a defective car. Also I only just found out that they sold me a scrap car and they never told me all of ths information when I was buying the car.
I do not mind buying a car that I need to repair but it would be helpful if they were honest and straight up with me from the very beginning. I called them and one of the owners said that there is nothing that he can do. He had a very don't care attitude and said he cannot help me in any way. I am now left wothout a car and have to commute four hours each day for work. I really do not have the money to cover the repairs of the car and cannot afford a new one. Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS DODGY, DISHONEST PLACE!!

Don't Be Fooled By Professional Advertising !
Spent £1950 on an 03 Fiesta for my daughter as her first car. The car was in overall good condition albeit some cosmetic bumps and scrapes that you would expect from a car of this age.
The car had recently been towed and consequently the circular trim section from the front valance had been removed leaving an ugly hole at the front of the car. A minor detail but it came a negotiating point and we agreed the price based on Star Motors forwarding the part once "it had returned from the paint shop."
We paid cash for the car ( Star Motors made this a condition of the sale ) signed the car transfer log book, and was assured by Star that they would send the log book to DVLA, something they never did which caused issues with our insurance company.
The pre delivery checks were never made as the levels were low and the side light and number plate bulbs were broken, something that they promised would happen when we agreed the sale.
The front valance section was never delivered and with every enquiry made to ascertain it's whereabouts was answered with excuses and hollow promises. After six weeks we were forced to threaten that we would expose his company failings to the internet which led him to say "do your best" and he then slammed the phone down.
All the bad experiences that one would hope to avoid when buying second hand cars are demonstrated by Star motors, an elderly couple advertising as a family business who do not have any idea of what is an acceptable minimum level of service in today's market. Avoid.

Star Motor Company (annesley) Ltd - Rip Off, Do Not Trade!
I can't believe the conversation I have just had with this two bob company. I purchased a car from this company where I had a 30 day gaurantee and within 30 days I have a problem with the break fluid leaking. Not annoyed at this point as it was a second hand car and therefore these things happen. I returned the car for it to be repaired at no cost to myself as it happened within the 30 days of purchase. To my suprise when I returned to collect the car I was made to pay for the repair (£100.00) otherwise they would not release the vehicle. After a long and drawn out arguement I decided to just pay them the money as I was desperate for the car back for work purposes etc, I left with a receipt that stated they would send the repair report in the post. £100.00 out of pocket left a sour taste but I had my car back and thought at least I don't have to deal with these jokes again. How wrong was I! within two days I was topping up my break fluid again to suggest they hadn't repaid the fault. I waited for a further week for the repair report so I could take it to another garage to check that they had done what they said they had. In the end I never received the repair report and decided to make a phone call to them asking where it was and what they was going to about the leak that they said they had repaied but didn't. They wanted to give me a contact of the person responsible for repairing my car for me to deal with but I wasn't happy with that as it was Star Motor Company I was trading with and handing over cash to. They said in that case they can't help me and I obviously asked why in which they replied I've tried giving you the details of the person who repaired your car, I replied again 'YOU REPAIRED MY CAR' in which they just simply replied 'in that case I can't help you and i will see you in court'.
These people know they are dodgy dealers and are prepaired to stear you in the face and basically say I know so but tough! They are a family run business with the main guy an old sleasly pompus muppit, there is quite a big bolshy guy that also works there who will probably try to intimidate you should you put up an arguement. With this in mind, there are plenty of other car dealers out there selling the same cars so please do yourself a favour and use one of them and NOT STAR MOTOR COMPANY (Annesley) Ltd.
It's quite simple really: Follow the consumer goods act. Write to them giving them time to correct the faults. Send all correspondence by recorded delivery and keep copies of all your letters and any of their correspondence (there won't be any from them, no doubt, as a lot of car traders are not very literate.) If they don't respond then tell them you will be meeting them in the small claims court (has to be the one nearest to them). Outline that you will win the case and they will be obliged to pay not only for the work done to the car, but also your loss of earnings for the day, petrol for your to get to court etc and the small claims fees, once you win. I followed all of this because of a car dealer reneging on providing me with a second key fob. I had it repaired at a cost of £76 to myself and then sent him the original bill, keeping a copy of the original. I wrote three letters, all recorded, and he would not honour his words at time of car handover to provide me with the two working keys. The part that won it for me was when in my last letter I said I would be seeing him in court, the one down the road from his trading forecourt! :-) 2 days later a cheque arrived. Believe me, you can beat these blokes into the ground. They are daft and are only in the car trade to make money fast, I'm afraid. Good luck. All you need is patience. :-)
