On November 3 2009 We Paid £100 Deposit And
On November 3 2009 we paid £100 deposit and traded in a 2007 Proton Impian (18000 miles) against a £7500 2005 Citroen C5 2.2 HDi Auto VTR (53000 miles). They allowed me £3000 for it. The C5 had a hidden fault.
About 3 weeks later the C5 suffered a total loss of power. I informed the garage. This happened again at the end of January. They asked me to take the car in for checking. On the way to the garage, once again the car lost all power. We left the car at the garage until that afternoon. When we went back they said that they could find no fault. (If you search the internet you can find many instances of this fault which even the Citroen agents cannot cure.)
We said that we felt we could no longer trust this car and both the Sales Manager and the General Manager both said that as we had been such good, loyal customers for the past 15 years they did not want us to take the car home and would find us another. Naturally we assumed that this meant a straight swap. HOW WRONG WE WERE. They SOLD us another car at FULL PRICE. In fact they were charging us £1000 more than the advertised price. Because we had trusted them we signed the paper they put in front of us. They took back the C5 but WOULD NOT GIVE ANY REFUND or PART EXCHANGE. We are out about £3700 They have repaid the out standing finance and are showing "a profit"on the deal of £3280 plus commission and still have the car to sell. Be very careful dealing with this company. LOYALTY means NOTHING to them.
