Awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bought a Volvo c30 from these jokers in March. Promised to pick me up at Stoke station, but 45 minutes late. Spent 3 hours waiting for paperwork, no reasons given for delays, rear parcel shelf missing, no offer to replace. Noone knew anything about how the car worked. Promised a warranty, but then said it was only verbal!!! Don't bother with Quicks, they're very Slow.

Do Not Go Anywhere Near This Company!!
THIS COMPANY IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!! I would advise not to go anywhere near when wanting to purchase a car! Firstly I had seen a car online which was based at another branch not the branch local to where I lived, so rang the one call number which was listed on the website for a useless waste of space to talk to me like he hadn't got the time of day to make a sale and not a brain cell in his head to communicate with me. So then I went into the local store to investigate further advice on this particular car, to which a sales woman said that I could place a £200 deposit for the car to be transferred within 3 days, so this is what I did. I was then told to wait for a phone call on the arrival of the car, 4 days on I hadn't received a phone call so I rang to ask what was going on. They said the car hadn't arrived and they didn't know where it was to then call me back and tell me that the car could not be moved to my local store after it pacifically stated on the website on this car that it was able to be transferred, to which I was not happy about having been told if I was to put a deposit down it would be and the staff at the Trent vale branch letting me place this deposit. They then said the only other thing you can do is travel to the branch where the car is to pick it up yourself, so then I made an agreement that this is what I would do. Before leaving I rang the store to say that I was 180 miles away and it would take me 2.30 hours to drive there and could the car be saved due to me having to do this after the mix up of communication and staff not being trained correctly to which the woman said yes and made an agreement to this. Whilst almost reaching the store being only 80 miles away we then received a phone call saying that there had been a mix up of communication and the car had been SOLD to a customer in store. But instead of informing the customer that the car was being held with a deposit they went ahead and let the car go. I am absolutely discussed that this is how they treat there customers!! I then asked to speak to a manager to be told by him 'first come first served' WELL WHY ASK FOR A £200 SECURITY DEPOSIT???? Not only had we lost the car that we had been waiting on for a week myself and my partner had lost a day of pay from booking the day off work and petrol costs. I am totally disgusted and would not recommend anyone to go through this shambles of a company! I am currently writing a formal letter of complaint and will not let this drop until we get some form of compensation after what we have been put through! STAY WELL AWAY!

You Get What You Pay For..
They promise the lowest prices on the market, but
“It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a
lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
― John Ruskin
If you are reading this review is because you are hopefully doing your homework before you part with your hard-earned cash or because like hundreds of others, you are regretting doing business with this company.
Although they were not the cheapest of the bunch, I ended up buying from them because they had the car with the exact specs I was looking for. I was enticed by their website and the promise of a fair price, several check points carried out on their vehicles and great customer service, but I'm afraid to say that I found them to be very unprofessional, ignorants and..liars. There is no such a thing as 114 check points they do on a vehicle prior it goes on sale. My vehicle had an oil leak and other problems that they were not able to fix simply because they couldn't even bother to read the operating manual that comes with the car. My only piece of advice is to approach them only if you are looking to purchase a known trouble free brand like Toyota, VW etc. otherwise you are better off buying privately or from a reputable franchised dealer.
1. The vehicle was filthy in and out the day I went to test drive it.
2. The alloy wheels were scratched and the paint had chipped off the bonnet in places (I was told it cost too much to repair it).
3. I was assured the vehicle had a recent service..which was untrue.
4. I found an engine oil leak (114 points check my a@@..).
5. The sunroof wasn't operating properly (they told me to go to VW dealer to get it fixed).
6. The anti theft wheel nut was missing (never replied to my calls).
7. One of the wipers was split and I had to ask for it to be replaced.
After you signed on the dotted line, they won't reply to your calls or emails if you have problems and..you are on your own..what a disappointment!!!
I can't really understand how a big Company like Pendragon Plc can allow one of their subsidiary to continue operating like this despite hundreds of complaints and unhappy customers..they do sell 1000s every year though.
Fortunately I managed to solve most of the problems myself (and if I could do it, I'm sure that that idiot of the mechanic could have fixed my sunroof too, rather than banging it and punching it in frustration) and quoting Mr Ruskin, the vehicle is doing what it is supposed to do, but I would not recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle form this establishment unless you know what you are doing.

Went to Quicks Stoke to look at skoda estate car given a stock list sheet as soon as I got out the car told the location of the vehicle.Having found the car a quick visual inspection revealed dents an scratches which is not a good start if you want to impress a byer. One of the sales assistants came over to see if I needed any help I asked for a test drive which he arranged. On getting in the car the initial problem seemed to be locating neutral prior to starting the engine a point raised with the sales person the drive its self was ok apart from trying to locate the gears as the lever was very stiff and gears hard to fined. On return the sales person stated that all the above would be sorted prior to purchase and was I going to leave a deposit my answer was no but if and when the repairs had been done if they gave me a phone call I would come and check the vehicle out to date no call. The sales person stated that the vehicle would be taken off sale as a result of the problems which was not quite the truth as its on sale for some one to purchase.
I felt that the whole experience and false statements along with additional cost over and above the price of the car seems to me a strange way of getting customers I also feel the sales staff are just that no interest in customer relations and are spars with the truth I will not be going back

Put A £200 Deposit Down On A Car, And Agreed A Tim
Put a £200 deposit down on a car, and agreed a time and date to view car and agree sale, we were told over the phone it'd had its mechanical check, and it was good to go. So we got everything ready and travelled to Stoke from The Wirral, and a good hour and a quarter in the car. We arrived at the agreed time. The reception was warm, and a salesman took us to the car we were viewing. The car was a shambles. It had a big Red sticker on the side of it, saying mechanical check needed. Not a good start. The sales man then asked us to take a look inside the car, which we did. He told us it was OK to test drive. I opened the car door, it was filthy. Not cleaned in ages by the look of it. It was very worn, the leather on the drivers seat was torn. It gets even better. On the back seat was the cars air filter unit, oil and dust every where, the lad had no idea. The car was not safe, let alone clean. We immediately requested a refund which was accepted. The management had no apologies, no concern or compassion. I will never consider these idiots again. Passionless. Please please do not go to these half wits for a car! Ruined our day!
Absolutely Diabolical
Apart from two staff i have spoken to over past couple days! I can not put into words how bad my experience has been with Quicks stoke,
I've lost a days pays, plus a train ticket cost and have no car!!!!
So KEEP AWAY from QUICKS at all costs !!!!

Understanding
I Have read reviews, and believe their is great miss understanding. When a company this size buys a car they check there is no finance on the vehicle, then when satisfied the car is legit, they purchase the vehicle with finance from there business account (the Bank).
Then if paying is with a debit card. this pays the finance of and the car is released straight away.
If paying transferring money from one bank to another or car loan company to bank and you live local documents can be signed and car collected next day when funds are clear.
However if travelling distance and want to take the car the same day, and you are transferring money in this way, It is advised not to give your self a time limit. choose a day that you have not got any-other commitments.
This is because, after documents are signed and passed on we are at the Mersey of the banks and loan companies, if they have any technical difficulties, we can only wait till they are sorted. nothing we can do. The money has to be transferred from bank or loan companies, to pay our outstanding finance with are bank, before we can release the car, to make it legal.
The cars are bought up to a high standard, due to its age and mileage, these are
used cars, and a vehicle with 80,000 plus or 8 years up will have ware and tare not sold as new. put we do improve on them and bring them up to our standard.
we give all our vehicles a seven day money back guarantee, so you can return them if your not happy.
Telephoning is problem, hundreds of customers phone everyday, If its really important, best send email. If its to see if your car is on site, then you will be called when it arrives. It takes 3 working days. so if you ordered Friday expect the call Wednesday of Thursday following week. Saturday and Sunday are not classed as working days.
We are the lowest price on the market, It is still a working progress on the communication side. But a lot off happy customers, even those that complain don't bring there cars back. because they are good value for the money.

Q&A
If I return a car to Quicks within the 7 day period from when the car was purchased for a refund will/should they also refund the extended guarantee I took out(£400)?
Thanks
I believe that they would have to refund the extended warranty too. As you would have chosen to reject the vehicle as is your right, you no longer have any requirement of the warranty on a vehicle that you are not the owner of. Why would you pay for a warranty on something you don't have? When I challenged Quicks over a dud gearbox, I cut and pasted approx. 20 reviews from this site, by disappointed customers and included them with my letter so as to prove that they have a reputation for poor service and poor cars. I won my complaint and they reimbursed me for the repairs. You will need to stand firm as they do like to try and tell you totally incorrect things about your rights.
