Dire Service Levels, Would Avoid At All Costs
Unbelievably poor service from this garage. Last year I bought an X5 40e for 26K from this garage and was told endless lies before and after the purchase. They are devoid of truth-telling.
The car I bought had a catastrophic engine failure within two months and 2,000 miles, and they ignored emails, ducked phone calls, and tried to avoid any responsibility whatsoever. I was lucky to have taken out finance on the car, and unless my finance company had stepped in with a section 75 notice, I would never have gotten my money back.
The sales personnel both ignore emails and calls. When you get in touch, they freely lie through their teeth, even contradicting themselves with every communication. It is as though they presume every customer is simple and that people will swallow the verbal rubbish they spit.
I was told that the car was fully serviced before I drove away, only to find out afterwards that it hadn't been at all. Worse than that, being a hybrid, one of the critical service items was coolant every three years, and this hadn't been done. So in the opinion of my local BMW dealer, who serviced it for me, the car was a ticking time bomb!
Even with my finance company stepping in, it took me months to fix; where I didn't have a family car, I had to personally lease one as there was no offer of a courtesy car or anything you'd expect from a main dealer.
I saw at the time review responses from Perry's too negative reviews, telling customers to contact GroupCRM, which is a joke, as I had copied them on at least 20 emails, and not one response was received from Perrys CRM team, nor any kind of apology from anyone....!

Poor Customer Service
Went looking at an Astra Estate spoke to a salesman who valued our car for part exchange, price very low compared to previous valuation, told him it was too low and he walked off in a sulk!!! Didn't even tell us where he'd parked our car!
No people skills

Very Poor Service
Asked salesman for inspection of car before travelling, was told great car well looked after no marks or scratches or dents on a 2 year old Insignia. Sold my car paid deposit over phone and arrived to collect car which was waiting on forecourt. There was a deep scratch over wheel arch and a dent on front panel???? I was paying cash and salesman's response was it is a 2 year old car you are bound to have marks and we are more than happy to put it back on sale for £700 more and get a cut from the finance company? I have got a good price for what I am getting it is my choice?
There was no acknowledgement that the description he gave was false. I had sold my car committed a deposit and was left standing on forecourt. I would have been happy if told about faults and paid prior to collection to have rectified, rather than be lied too and put in an awkward position.
If you are happy to pay full price and on finance so profit is big enough to satisfy dealer then go ahead but if you want to buy at competitive price this dealer does not care and wants sale done and you out of the door as quickly as possible.

Perry's Vauxhall
Stay clear unless you are determined to deal with disaster.
Great Service
Very friendly and helpful. Came in for a car that had just been sold. The Salesman spent a lot of time finding the right car for us. Our friends recommended Perry's and I would definitely do so as well.
We came here a few years ago and the service was bad but things have really changed and the new staff are great. Thanks to everyone concerned.
Totally Incompetant, and After Sales A Joke
Travelled from Glasgow to Bury to pick up car.Dissappointed not to be offered atleast a coffee, but did change over fairly quickly, they never asked for deposit money i agreed or finance docs for trade in car and also v5 for old car.Was given keys and told car was outside,no sales staff could be bothered going outside in the frosty morning(very dissapointing)
When i got car i noticed it had not been serviced as agreed..how hard can it be.i had to go to my local dealership in glasgow and get it done and they would reinburse me..very inconvienient 4 days before xmas.
Managers dont stick to their word on certain things discussed
Would i but another car from them eh NO CHANCE
Arthur Daley Comes To Mind
They sold my daughter a car that has a faulty handbrake the car is 12 months old and now do not want to know, would anybody feel comfortable that their young daughter is driving a car that is unsafe. Their customer services are very poor I would never buy a car from them and certainly would not recommend Perrys, Unfortunately I need to add a star rating otherwise there would not be a star
Scumbags!!!
They put an old part in my brand new car, I could have been killed(or 1 of my students as I'm a Driving instructor), they were ignorant, rude and lied to me. They blame vauxhall, vauhall blame them. The financial ombudsman found in my favour but unfortunately my car is on finance so to avoid going through the courts the finance company just paid the measley amount awarded to me for these SCUMBAGS trying to kill me, they get away with it and carry on regardless. GO TO THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE AS WELL.

Never Go Here
When i decided i was going to buy a used car i decided to pop into Perrys Vauxhall in Bury, i literally went in for a look around when someone came over, i told him i was just looking and the next thing i know he is saying to me look at this one i can do this price for today only. When i did eventually go back to purchase a car, what a surprise it was still the same price and i got it down further but still think i paid over the odds for it. I also purchased a 1 YEAR WARRANTY!!. When i picked up the car they decided to tell me that one of the Xenon Headlights was missing from the car (even though it wasn't when i originally looked at the car and had still somehow got through an MOT)so i then had to go back a couple of days later when the had ordered one. After about 9 months of driving i noticed a few small problems with the car such as the rer washer wasn't working and also quite a major problem in that the spare wheel was the wrong type and there was no Jack or tools or tools in the car at all. So when i took it in to get sorted i left the car there and went to work. i Then got a phone call to say that i wasn't covered under my warranty as it only had a 12,000 mileage cover which i wasn't told about ans so would not carry out the work on the car. Also i never recieved a phone call regarding the situation afterwards even though i was promised a phone call the next day and i am still waiting for this to be sorted to this day.
Go on their facebook page as well. Report it to OFT as well I have and hopefully if enough of us tell people what they do to people something may get done about it. At the moment they carry on regardless.

Ok Sales, Terrible After-sales Service!
Where do I start! Purchasing the vehicle 4 and a half years ago started brilliantly. Great price, salesman was good (known to the family for years). Then that salesman had to leave for family reasons and unfortunately has not returned since. Well, the date of collection kept being pushed back until finally one of their salespeople went up to their Burnley head office to collect it and drive it himself back! So the first 20odd miles on my Brand New car was done by a salesman! Then on the agreed day to collect I got a phone call saying they had left the paperwork in Burnley and had to go collect it but would be back in time. I was on a deadline as working midday. They got back and we looked at the car to find not only had it not been valeted, but there was a Coffee Cup left inside it! The salesman was great offering me a lift to work (a good half hour out of his way) and when I finally got the car the day after they threw in some free mats! By then I just wanted my car so was happy to leave it at that.
That is until the problems started. Handbrake failures which are because I am using the handbrake wrong (apparently the way you learn in both you driving test and advanced motorist test to push in the button is wrong!), central locking that won't deadlock unless you put the key in the ignition first which just will not happen on Vauxhall property so they deny that fault exists. A year and a half after getting the vehicle I was left stranded on the side of the motorway in the middle of the night in the middle of winter after my windscreen wipers failed in pouring rain. Took to Perrys the next morning, told them the problem and advised that I was travelling to Middlesbrough the next day so must have either my car or a courtesy car. Was told that won't be a problem. Got to 4pm to get a phonecall telling me that the motor wasn't working and they didn't have the part in! Then could not provide me with a car. Called Vauxhall themselves who advised me to hire a vehicle at my cost and claim it back. 3 years on, I'm still waiting as Perrys just tell me that is Vauxhalls problem and Vauxhall say they will sort out Perrys for me.
Every single service has had a failure of theirs on at least one thing. The latest is when I took my car in for a bulb to be changed (30 minute job in their garage) and they came out after 20 minutes to ask if I know where my car is! One of the engineers had moved it into the garage without telling the one doing the job so I ended up having a panic attack over the face my car could have been stolen because of their lack of communication! Not good for someone who happens to be an insurance claims handler!
Since it has been out of warranty, I have not taken my car to them as I can get better service elsewhere, but last week I got a recall notice on my brake pedal. Went to see them last Friday, advised them very clearly that I work in the centre of Manchester and leave Bury at 11am. Not a problem as it will only take an hour and a half to do. Bring it in next Friday. I do so to be asked if early afternoon will be ok for me by the same service agent! I politely advised him that I have to be in the centre of Manchester for 12 midday so will need it by 11am as discussed last week. "So do you want it before or after 12". Once again they have failed to meet my expectations, though I now have very low expectations of this bunch of fools. I have had to arrange alternative transport & for someone else to pick up my car which is a huge inconvenience to me and that person. I'm not even in a position where I could leave it with them overnight as I'm going to a racetrack in the morning for some Marshalling work! Not somewhere that Public Transport can get me to!
Interestingly the company I work for do not have Perrys as an approved repairer for claims, but even more interestingly, for the Vauxhall Motability Car that my mum has, that got taken by her insurance to the Ford garage next door after her accident!
Finally their marketing team are a joke! I have had numerous phone calls since purchasing my car that have ranged from we have some good deals in stock (within 3 months of my original purchase! am I supposed to be made of money?) to my personal favourite "We notice you bought a very nice Corsa 2 years ago, and we think it would look nice on our forecourt again! We can offer you a good trade-in price!" They seem to have backed down on the phone calls since I quoted the part of the Data Protection Act that gives me the right to ask them not to contact me again and them the requirement to comply, but I do still get mailshots from them to the same effect.
They do not listen to what the customer wants or needs. If you find a fault with your brand new car they will tell you that you are using it wrong. Their marketing department will not leave you alone. Quite frankly when it comes to me getting my next car it will not be a Vauxhall. It will never see the inside of the Perrys garage. Avoid like the plague! If anyone from Perrys or Vauxhall wanted to discuss any of this with me, it is way too late. I have been complaining for nearly five years.
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
Go to their facebook page as well, report them to OFT and hopefully someone somewhere will start listening, they could have killed me. The financial ombudsman found in my favour but as the car is on finance the finance company paid the compensation to avoid going through the courts so these scumbags get away with it.
Q&A
I was thinking of modifying used motor here. Have seen their impressive website (used car warranties, after sales etc). Can anybody reassure me this their impressive website lives up to expectations?
