Took my spotless Pride and joy nc there for a few Bits of work doing,
Was told that it may be ready to collect same day, 2 weeks later I Eventually managed to get the car back, No Phone calls or updates from them, Got charged £55 pph for real shoddy work doing. 4 wheel studs loose on different wheels, brand new ss exhaust put together with no gaskets just putty, nuts and bolts loose everywhere , Steering wheel now at 2 o’clock after alignment.
Car was filthy when collected no sanitation going on there. Payed them just shy of a grand, am I taking it back for them to sort I here you say? No.

Really Poor Customer Service
Sent mis-matched and incomplete parts and sent them to the wrong address.
Apparently to busy to tell me that they couldn't arrange to collect the return on the day we'd agreed, blunt and unhelpful on the phone.
Took ages to do refund because "We don't know how to use paypal", even though it's offered as a payment option on their website.
Without doubt some of the poorest customer service I've ever received.

Warning
I would like to bring to your attention to very recent dealings I have had with MX5 City in Doncaster.
My son's Mazda MX5 Mk 1 had succumbed to the notorious rusted sills and was disposed of. In order to avoid a repetition we both decided to buy his next Mx5 from a specialist dealer.
Living in South Wales, there aren't any close by, so we chose the next best thing, MX5 City, Doncaster.
I emailed them and was told by the owner that he had a 54 plate Arctic in "an excellent rust free" condition.
So as a result, my son and I travelled to Doncaster (400 mile round trip) stayed overnight in a local Travelodge on 3rd/4th March 2017 and bought the Arctic and its hardtop for £4900. The car had received a brand new MOT, new timing belt, a service and a waxoyl treatment.
My son drove the car back to South Wales and two weeks later, last Saturday, 18th March he took it to be checked out by a local MX5 enthusiast/mechanic. On removing the plastic undertray it was discovered that both chassis rails were rotten to such an extent that my son was advised not to drive the car as it was dangerous and unroadworthy !!!! He could not believe that my son had driven it back from Doncaster without incident.
This is a car he had driven 200 miles down the busy M1 M5 and M50 motorways.
I contacted MX5 City and informed them. The owner emailed to say he was sorry there had been a "problem" with the car.
This is a car that he had assured me on TWO separate occasions was completely rust free
I received a full refund, but he declined to reimburse the cost of fuel, overnight accommodation and the cost of cancelling the car's insurance, a total of £200 and tried to make out he was doing me a favour by offering me a full refund !!! as it was not his usual policy. The car was then collected from my home.(not driven away, put on a trailer !! )
I have received NO apology or any explanation whatsoever for the state of the car and why I was told it was rust free. He didn't even have the decency to speak to me on the phone, everything was done via email.
There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for the car being sold in this condition. I ahve since found out that corrosion to the MX5 Mk 2 chassis rails is a common problem. There is even a section and photos regarding this on MX5 City's OWN WEBSITE.
And to how that car had a BRAND NEW MOT one can only guess ???
So please be warned of this experience I had with these so called "specialists". This is not a case of sour grapes as I have had my money back with little fuss, however I would hate to think that there is someone out there who thinks they are driving a lovely little classic sports car bought from a specialist, when in fact they are driving a deathtrap.
If you have recently bought a car from MX5 CITY please get it checked out.
Is the car registration number Sd54wdx

Original Never Welded ?
Bought from here a couple of years ago, broke down on drive home, clearly hadnt been serviced as promised and was also told the car hadnt been welded .underneath and was original ..up on the ramp at mot time told a different tale..clearly had work to both rear sill sections in the past.its now totally rotten in those areas and basically scrap as uneconomical to repair.
Lesson learned,avoid

Only The Best At A Great Price
I collected my good friend (Mk1 Eunos 1.8)from MX5City yesterday following some fairly intensive cosmetic surgery to the bonnet, after a major stuff up by me, with rattle cans, which turned out to be faulty and discharged some fairly large sized blobs onto aformentioned bonnet. Anyway, after some
intensive work by CEO and his painter, sanding their fingers down to the bone, the result is nothing short of spectacular.Along with a few other cosmetic touches like a new front number plate surround and new, second hand, bonnet badge, Maz is now looking a million dollars (Or pounds) depending upon your monetary preferences. To cut a long story short, don't just think about taking your dearly beloved-car that is- to MX5 City JUST DO IT, I gaurantee you will be ecstatisised with the result.

Flatters To Deceive
Having made a 300 mile round trip to get around £1000 of accessory work done, I'm sad to say I'm not happy.
Pre-sale discussions were very positive, hence my decision to make the trip.
However, various prices & times scales indicated were exceeded, the work wasn't completed, several parts have had to be re-fitted by my own garage & emails either remain unanswered or promises made which are not kept.
The owner, seems a nice guy but these problems, further exacerbated by claims of staff shortages & holidays, make me wonder if he really is or just badly organised.
As a customer, I just wanted to be cared for properly & I wasn't.

Repair Of Rusty Sills.
I am new to the world of MX5s but have been interested for many years. Having made the decision to buy, ready for the summer, I purchased a good Mk2 S reg from a neighbour of mine. I was aware of the common problem with sill corrosion but had read of MX5 City and thought they would do a good job. I contacted Martin the owner and sent some pictures. He was quick to respond and suggested a start date and price. I wanted a proper job not a quick fix and this is what I got. Martin arranged to pick my car up from where I work, took it away and then returned it three days later in perfect condition. The quality is superb. Just like new. I also received a set of pictures which recorded the work done stage by stage. I am delighted with the finish, it's fantastic. I would recommend MX5 City to anyone in search of high quality workmanship and good old fashioned service.
