Don't Buy From Here!!!!!!!!

April 2018 We brought a skoda Fabia vrs, in short words from then to now August 2018 we have contended with the valater sending the wheels a light green colour when we only left the car in their hands to have some marks removed. The engine management light came on , when we eventually got car back from being sorted , the car then started smoking really heavily , now there saying might need new engine ,

This is just a short sentence to the actual stress and headaches that we have been put through and the issue is still on going .The sales manager of this establishment lacks Empathy and people skills,it seems they need to upgrade their recruitment process as well as actually learning how to sell cars correctly and making the people that matter the most "customers" happy.

Great Car From A Customer Focussed Dealership

Evans Halshaw Nottingham (Vauxhall) are the best customer focussed car sales company I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Bought a black Honda Civic Sport 2007 Reg from them last August 2017 and the service was beyond amazing. I test drove the car and the sales rep was not hurried at all, ensuring I drove the car as much as I wanted. I pointed out a few bits and pieces that needed doing to the car and sure enough he promised to get those done before I collected the car. While the car was being MoT and prepped, I was kept informed throughout as to preparation being done to my car. The collection and paper exercise was smooth and flawless. These guys know what a customer wants and they can sure deliver it above and beyond expectation. I would go back to them without a 2nd thought to buy my next car. Buy with confidence from these guys and you won't be disappointed.

Not Great..

I went in to test drive two cars today. The experience was pleasant enough at first - I'd made no appointment and it wasn't a problem to test drive both. However, I found the sales person got a bit pushy.

After driving both cars we sat down to discuss the financing options; First, they wouldn't show us the prices without all the optional costs and then gave us a staggeringly bad quote for a PCP deal. Sales person wouldn't tell us APR but I worked it out and it was a whopping 27%. We were there for some time (too long, really, but it felt like they were stalling) and when we said we had to leave to pick up our baby the sales person insinuated that they had invested the time so we 'owed it to them'.

I don't think we'll be in a hurry to go back.

Shocking After Sales Service

We bought a 12 plate vauxhall astra from evans halshaw. Service was brilliant right up to the point they received our money. We also purchased their extended warranty. When we picked up the car there was a fault with one of the headlights, they changed the bulb and told me it was fine. However the fault returned within 2 days. We called up to tell them about the problem and they said it would be 3 weeks before they could look at it. I explained that I drive the car at night and needed the light working. After much arguing over the phone they told me to bring it down and they would have someone look at it straight away. When I arrived they took my keys and left me sitting here I have now been waiting over an hour and still nobody has even looked at the car. I have also found out that there is still an outstanding recall for something to do with the brakes.I would not expect a main dealer to sell a car with outstanding recalls. Also after lifting the bonnet it there are 4 bolts missing from the front grill I consider this unsafe and again not something I would expect from a main dealer. I would not buy another car from Evans halshaw and would not recommend them to anyone.

Don't Go Here If You're A Woman!

I visited to test drive a car I was interested in and ask about part exchanging my current vehicle. The salesman I dealt with was perfectly nice, but I ended up being there far, far too long.

However, at the end of my visit when I was eventually told there was no negotiating on asking price or part-exchange offer, and about the addition of a mysterious admin fee, £20 for a bit of petrol, etc, I decided to leave it and was just about to leave. It was then a manager 'casually' came over to where I was sitting, stood over me and proceeded to talk condescendingly about how the car buying/selling industry worked and reassessing my budget expectations, in the manner that implied I shouldn't have even asked to look at the car with my budget. It felt aggressive and sexist.

So, Evans Halshaw could have left me just bemused (no negotiation?!) but this manager's intervention left me angry and upset and determined never to go to an Evans Halshaw dealership again.

Had exactly the same experience.

No negotiating on an over priced car (I had done my market research - knew what the car was worth and looked around at prices for other like for like cars (of same make, model, age, spec and mileage).

Was told to buy one of them instead then.

I was offered a totally unreasonable offer for my car part exchange (was not after much, but £100 is an insult!) - said I could get more for it at a scrap heap - was told to do that instead then.

And then pressured into paying an upfront deposit on it - before I had drove it - before it had even had the necessary repair work done on it!! Obviously I did not pay this!!!

When paying £thousands for a car, I would expect a small amount of fuel in as a courtesy, not for an extra £20. Likewise I would expect car mats to be included, not at a price of £40.

Also the 3 month warranty that they offer only actually covers the first £100 of any repair work that needs doing. So if you buy a car here and 2 weeks later your clutch goes, head gasket blows - whatever!! - you're on your own!!! (And a maximum of 3 claims only!).

Oh and if you want your car polishing and the fabric inside protecting, that's another £199.

Needless to say, I walked away.

Would never step foot in there again.

Should Be Wearing Masks

Started off being friendly and helpful, and was told a great deal. Not so, firstly I was paying full price, the interest free finance was available to everyone. I was told I was buying the physical vehicle in the showroom, which was fitted with many options. My son went to look at the vehicle and noticed the car had standard wheels, not the £600 optional 19 inch upgrade they were charging me for, they admitted the mistake and altered the price accordingly. The car in the showroom was also fitted with LED daytime running lights and Xenon headlights. On the specified day of collection, I was told the supposed physical vehicle wouldn't be ready for nearly a week. After a few calls to Vauxhall, they promised the car the following day with the optional paint protection as way of compensation. I collected the car on a dark rainy evening, imagine my surprise the following day on checking the car that it had different wheels again and no LED running lights or Xenons. In fact it was a different car. Oh, and the paint protection? Non existent!

I have called and emailed the salesman and manager, all to no avail, there response simply I've got what I ordered. And they can't take it back now and the lights can't be retro fitted. And to compound matters, the car is now (at 2k miles) running poorly, hesitant and stalling. I simply refuse to let this dealer look at the car. Poor customer service, the sales team have failed to give me what I was told I was getting, and will not help to rectify the matter. Avoid at all costs!!

Gemma Dyer Motability

From the first time I walked in to the showroom I had a wonderful experience, Gemma is the Motability specialist there and was more than helpful explaining everything to me as Id never done any of this before and taking her time making sure all my questions were answered.

She listened to all my needs and my lifestyle so we could select the right car for me and my family (and dog) and was always available to contact with any queries I had.

I would 100% reccommend Gemma Dyer to anyone looking for a new Motability car, I'm sure with her fantastic service and sunshine disposition you will leave there with not only a new car specific to your needs but a new friend as Gemma is always at the end of the phone to help with anything.. AAAAA* service
