For older bike sizes these are really good. You simply wouldn't believe these used to be Cheng Shin - they still are, but transformed beyond recognition. CS have turned their range of tyres into something that's actually worth buying and you no longer have to risk your neck in the wet (or dry). Maxxis branded CS Hi-Max C906 (Front) and C907 (Rear) as a matched pair work, as an all-rounder commuter and/or touring set they acquit themselves well in the wet or dry, summer or winter. There are cheaper tyres to be found, but I think these are likely the sensible lowest cost ones I'd risk - from what I see of other real cheapies, I'm not impressed at all. The rear has lasted a good 8K miles so far and the front looks like it's got another 4 or 5K in it yet and this is on a bike that gets hacked around the back roads with no real regard shown for economy of wear (I often think I should try to spin the tread life out a bit, but nah, rubbish to that, it's too much fun to carry on giving it a bit of beans). I'd happily buy another set of these. In fact, I shall be, fairly soon.
