Stay Away!

I was with TESCO Personal Finance for some time and then TESCO changes their online login system and my passowrds had to be reset. After this things went down hill and I could not remember my passwords. I contacted TESCO about this and they sent me out a new login password which did not work and I then phoned to complain about this and was told that a new pasword had to be sent out. I was very dissapointed with this as I needed access to my money and I did get one password the TESCO advisor asked me correct and it seemed like TESCO was not willing to give me my money.

I then requested for my account to be closed and a cheque payment be made to myself for the balance on the account but TESCO quibbled and after demanding to speak with a manager I eventually was given my money but I had to fight to get my money from TESCO.

Worst bank I have dealt with and terrible customer service!

Previous Comments Are Correct, This Is Truly A Sha

Previous comments are correct, this is truly a shambolic administrative set up. Calls to the online banking customer service number send you to the credit card department and you get caught in a cycle for 20 minutes before you get transferred to the correct department. The issue regarding the card reader would be avoided if they were sent following account setup.Tesco should read this forum and get their act sorted. Even the setup of the 'Instant Access' savings account in the first place took months instead of days with the to and fro of security issues. No other finance organisation has these issues so why Tesco. Furthermore their online website leads to confusion.

Stay Away! Absolutely Shambolic! You Open The Acco

Stay away! Absolutely shambolic! You open the account with Tesco Personal Finance, then get sent a form to verify your signature before you can do anything online. Then to withdraw money you need a special card and a card reader which take months to arrive. Avoid like the plague.

If You Really Want To Waste Your Time And Phone Co

If you really want to waste your time and phone costs then this is the one for you.If you would like to learn how to NOT run an application service then this is the one for you.If you want to lose some money in the system then this is the one for you. Please Please Please consider very hard before you start to consider what can only be described as a shambolic debacle and in light of the current credit crunch where financial institutions need your deposits then Tesco certainly lead the way in messing up from start to finish. I think they have finally reached the point of not caring one bit about there customers as they have so many they can lose thousands and still not make a dent in there Savings.

Hardly 'instant Access' In My Experience. Before

Hardly 'instant access' in my experience. Before I could withdraw money, I needed to ask for a card reader and a card in order to generate a security code for the website. This is great security - only Tesco Personal Finance didn't tell me that I need this card reader or card until I actually tried to withdraw some money!!

Make sure you ask for a card reader and card when you open the account - this can only be done online.

On an instant access savings account, have they got the right to unilaterally declare the account dormant if not used regularly?
