Bank of Scotland Halifax Regular Saver

I opened this account in December 2008. For some reason they open another account at the same time which is a variable websaver account (to be paid into at the end of the year). The Regular saver account pays 7% interest whereas the websaver just went down in line with falling interest rates. Now for some reason I (apparently) made the mistake of setting up my monthly payment into the websaver account meaning that I accrued just over £3 at the end of the year instead of somewhere in the region of £300. This was my mistake but would not have happened had I just been given the one account I was interested in. I did not realise what had happened because the interest is paid at the end of the year.

To make matters worse I was unable to access the account online because it said it had not been given my details despite the fact that I gave them in initially and then followed this up with a visit to my branch where I was told this would be rectified and it never was.

I ended up making a 45 minute call to Halifax which culminated in a complaint to a manager who said she would feed this back about the loss of personal details but at no point apologised for my inconvenience or loss of money.
