Easy Access Is Something Of A Misnomer Here. No Re
Easy access is something of a misnomer here. No real problems setting up, and the interest rate is similer to everyone else as long as you move after the first year, but the website you go through is ridiculous.
They've taken security to a ridiculous level, with half-a-dozen things to enter such as your "memorable place", "memorable person" and "memorable book or film". Chances of remembering everything you put in? Slim to none. What's wrong with only using part of your password each time like other sites do? You also can't set your username to something you might remember either.
You also don't get given an account number and sort code for transferring money from your linked account, you're supposed to go through the AA website, which means it take 5 days or more to get there (though if you phone them up and ask they'll give you an account number & sort code, if you make the reference your username it gets to the right place. They say).
All in all just a hassle to use, with no benefit to be gained from it. I've closed the account after needing to call them to log in both times I've tried.
Thanks you for the feedback on the AA internet savings accounts. As you can imagine information security is extremely important to us and our verification process is of the highest standard. We will however take on you board your comments and incorporate them into our ongoing site development programme.

A Very Easy Account To Open - They Verified My Ide
A very easy account to open - they verified my identity electronically so there wasn't even any need to send in passport etc. They completed the whole opening process within just a few days, so was very impressed with that.
The account accepts faster payments in, and any withdrawals take two working days.
100% safe - it's run by Birmingham Midshires, who in turn are part of Bank of Scotland.
Just be aware that the interest rate will drop after a year - until then though, it's a cracking account to have, paying a top interest rate with unlimited withdrawals.
