Northern Bank Have Extreely High Charges And Are Completely
I have been with northern bank for a number of years, I have 3 children and when I began university I was offered an arranged overdraft. I took the overdraft and I left university on Dec 2012. I am not currently working and I only get child tax credits and I am now being charged anything from £45 to £75 per month, this is being taken from £110 that I have to feed my children. I am seriously thinking of changing to another bank!! Appauling bank!! Avoid this bank if possible!!

We've Had A Business Account With The Northern Ban
We've had a business account with the Northern Bank for more than 50 years, in the 10 ten years the level of customer service and professional ability has gone from bad to worse.
Branch managers and their staff are rude, incompetent and work shy. In the last 12 months we've twice received lodgement books (highly sensitive!) belonging to other businesses in the town, a statement for a private individual and experienced their staff 'misplacing' a cheque for a 5 figure sum (incidently they laughed about this and couldn't explain). The branch manager failed to apologise (or ask a particular member of staff) for his staff in regards of publicly insulting a director of our business, incidently, he also had to introduce himself for the first time despite being at the branch for over a year, and us their biggest client!
Brass necked business managers, who fail to accept criticism despite obvious mistakes.
Never mind, A&L and BOI are cheaper to bank with, appreciate the business and still have their manners!

An Absolute Disgrace Of A Bank. Advertising Their
An absolute disgrace of a bank. Advertising their Northern Freedom account for students with a £3000 overdraft, and after having banked with them for 2 years and no bad credit in my life, I applied going into university. They rejected me and gave no reason, and when I contacted them over it, they said the amount of overdraft was too large, and to apply again for a smaller amount. I applied for a mere £250 and they also rejected that without comment. I am currently closing my account with them, and opening one with Northern Ireland's better bank, Ulster bank, which straight up offered me an overdraft. Would not recommend to anyone as they see taxpayer's money as a free bonus all around, rather than using it to secure a future for themselves and their workers. Why advertise this overdraft if it's unattainable?

Very Good Service In The Bank. Staff Are Very Help
Very good service in the bank. Staff are very helpful. I once tried to send money online to my son"s account. He is with a different bank so it took four days.It would have been a lot faster for me to have got on a bus and delivered it by hand.On line banking a bit slow.Sometimes a transaction takes a couple of days to show up on screen.

Easy To Log On With Access Codes Saved On To A Sma
Easy to log on with access codes saved on to a small pen drive, so I can keep track of my finances while on holiday. I have set up payments in advance so I don't forget them while away. I found the new updated site easy to navigate.
Overall I found the system very professional and had a lot of information links which I found useful. Best of all was the ability to transfer funds to my wife instantly when she was short cash while out shopping one Saturday morning. She was immediately able to withdraw funds from the ATM even though the bank was closed.

Think that the Northern Bank should keep their customers more informed of their reasons for changing their dates for putting their money through the system. Also they really need to stop their heavy fines that we all know now arent within the law.

I Have Been An Internet Banker For Years Before Sw
I have been an internet banker for years before switching to Northern Bank when I moved to this country. I used to have my entire account set up so that all I had to do was enter the amount to be paid on each bill and press send to deliver checks or direct debt for all my bills. If it was a regular amount such as mortgage or student loans I could just set it up through internet bank to be delivered on the day that I wanted it to each month and never had to worry about it. To do that with this site seems to require a trip to a branch (no small feat since Northern Bank defines the phrase "Banker's hours" [10am to 3:30pm]). I have searched numerous times for the bill pay page and have as of yet still not found it. So much for user friendliness. On that note as well...You have to carry around a calculator sized "access key" in order to get a random code off of it so that you can access your account anywhere. I really don't feel like having that in my pocket all the time so pretty much I can only access my account from home. The security feature seems nice but overall I find it really annoying. I will be transferring my accounts somewhere else as soon as I find a suitable ie. convenient place to do banking... To be fair the customer service both on the phone and in the branches are great but the product is terrible.
The Northern Bank e banking must be the WORST ever designed. I, Victor Kerr, have tried for 20 minutes or more
to get it on line. All I want is, to put in my password as I already
am an on line customer. Some one has changed the steps
hitherto needed to achieve this. It is most frustrating!!!
I shall be looking for an explanation.
