As Other People Have Said Citibank Have Terrible C

As other people have said Citibank have terrible customer server. You end up waiting for ever to talk to someone in India over very poor telephone lines.

They do not appear to read the notes of previous calls and messages or maybe they just don't make any.

Our most recent as yet unresolved issue was caused by Citibank sending correspondence to an address that does not exist and then locking our account because they did not respond. After many calls we got them to change the address back to our actual address but they have still not unlocked the account

They also will not provide details of how to make a complaint which I think is against banking rules.

It's just not worth it.

I've Had The Misfortune To Have A Uk Citibank Acco

I've had the misfortune to have a UK Citibank account for 7 years. Ever since opening the account I have experienced nothing but problems. Their call centre is next to useless, customer service laughable and dealing with them via their messaging service is a joke. Not once have I ever had to lodge a complaint against any organisation however to date Citibank have attracted 3 complaints from myself due to their complete mismanagement of my account and subsequent loss of many thousands of pounds.

I am currently in dispute with the bank once again and urge anybody who is thinking of opening an account with them not to do so.

Do Not Use Citibank. I've Had The Misfortune To U

Do not use Citibank. I've had the misfortune to use them for 10 years. Consitantly awful customer service, even when I switched to their gold account offering. The indian call centre is a nightmare to deal with and when I have had major problems the account managers in the few London branchs seem equally useless / powerless to actually sort anything out. I ultimately ended up speakign to some kind of compliants resolution department who were equally useless. In the end after repeating my last issue over 10 times to call centre/london based manager I gave up. After years of frustration but lack of time to move all my banking over, I finaly switched last summer. I moved to First Direct and the difference is massive. Responsive, capable customer service based in the UK make banking a relative pleasure. This is the first time I've written an online review but I'm so angry over my experience with that I feel compelled to warn anyone else from using them. Do your self a big favour and stay away!

Citibank's Call Centre In India Will Have You Thro

Citibank's call centre in India will have you throwing the phone against the wall - incredibly long wait times (if you get through), robotic operators, amazing bureaucracy.

Save yourself the frustration - go with a bank with a UK call centre with "bankers" on the end of the line - not data input clerks.

Friggen Useless! Opened A Us Bank Account In The

Friggen useless! Opened a US Bank Account in the UK, and have had nothing but problems. Citibank in the US don't want and can't help at all, Citibank UK only give a charged number in the UK to contact them by and you've got to wait with everybody else - so very expensive. Can't withdraw any money due to apparently a daily withdrawal limit and a different weekly withdrawal limit, as well as a transaction limit. Help centre is indian which is of no help at all. We are currently in the usa having to withdraw money on our visa cards for the past 2 weeks. Promised it will be different everyday but it is just the same moneyless and pissed off. Don't deal with citibank for overseas money and don't rely on them at all!!!! Lesson learnt!!!!

If You Are Seriously Considering Opening Any Bank

If you are seriously considering opening any bank account with Citibank, read this story. I opened an Ultimate Money Account (a high-yield savings account) and an EZ-Checking Account with Citibank. I put $850 into both accounts via electronic checks from my existing checking account. Within 3 business days, there was $850 in both accounts according only to Citibank. Since my existing checking account had been slow before to show a balance change, I thought everything was fine. 4 days later I buy $40.17 of items using the check card Citibank sent me. I check my balance in both accounts after the purchase and both accounts had zero balances. Since it was late at night, I waited until tomorrow to call Citibank. When tomorrow came, both accounts were overdrawn and Citibank wanted me to pay them returned electronic check fees. The first time I called to complain I got some lady who couldn't speak English very well and wanted to blame their mess on me so she could get off the phone. I mentioned closing the accounts and the phone went dead immediately. I call again and after going through the answering service the phone again goes dead without letting me speak to anybody. I call again and once again get someone who spoke poor English and after a lot of complaining I got rid of the electronic check fees and am in the process of closing both accounts. But, I have to pay them $40.17 to cover the purchase that they botched and take a hit to my credit score. All I get for compensation is $0.39 interest. Pathetic. If you don't want to risk losing your money, your good credit score, and your hair, DO NOT open a bank account with Citibank.

Egg is part of the Citibank group. My own review of my Egg experience is on this site.

Could not have put it better myself, dreadful website, apalling customer service, incompetant staff.

The staff at the call centre do not want to listen and want to pin the blame on the customer. My Citbank account in the UK was closed by me after seven days as my experience with them was so poor.

I Am Amazed At The Apparent Lack Of Thought That S

I am amazed at the apparent lack of thought that seems to go into some of the banking sites. I have used Bank of America and it is by far the best. Important perks to me are setting bill payments when you want them delivered rather than sent. It also doesn't seem that it would be much of a stretch to show your current ledger balance AND your balance minus whatever disbursements are scheduled. For many of us these are important bits of information that make a difference day-to-day. There really is a great deal that could be offered with online banking that isn't now. A little imagination could go a long way towards improving the experience. Before it's all over there will only be the quick and the dead. Today's kids will look at brick and mortar banking like we look at steam locomotives. They're something you get a kick out of seeing in a museum but you wouldn't want to depend on it for transportation. After trying several, Bank of America is top gun for now.

I Recently Opened An Account With Them, And I Trie

I recently opened an account with them, and I tried out their internet banking. Unfortunately, their internet banking system is below par when compared with other UK banks.

Usually, with other major banks, you could easily schedule future BACS payments by them allowing you to set-up a future date, or schedule future payments instantly after setting up a bill payee, but not with Citibank. 'Your new payee account will be set-up in 2 working days.' How very efficient! By the way, the staff on their helpline in India, were not as helpful as I expected.

I Should Mention That I Am Terrible At Math, And I

I should mention that I am terrible at math, and I tend to have some creative banking ideas. Citibank web services have been able to accommodate all my banking quirks. Customer service in the bank and on the phone has been excellent. I would never go back to paper checks. I have never had any additional fees or surprises. I have had as many as 50 payees on my schedule, and for a time I had decided to pay them all weekly just to see if it would affect the interest I was paying and leave me more money at the end of the month (I told you I have creative banking ideas). I made LOTS of payments (ie. paying the utility bills 4 x per month in equal increments instead of one check). Anyhow, that experiment went great; no fees, no problems and no hassles from Citibank!

I should mention that I have been a customer since the program was a pilot back in the late 1980's.

I love the flexibility. I work in a field that has a high/low season, and during my off peak I like to reschedule the way I pay, and I like knowing I can change or cancel a payment right up until the date it is scheduled. My husband is with another bank, and he has to give them 3 days notice. With a cancel it usually means something unexpected has come up, not something with 3 days notice!

Thanks CITIBANK!! This is the only service I can say always works as promised. In fact, my web banking experience has far exceeded my expectations.

Let me say, in regards to the negative reviews above; I am not sure what kind of banking you are doing, but this is a personal online banking account. I have opened accounts, closed them, added links to my kids savings for easy transfers, paid bills, set up automatic payments, paid friends for home party sales and checked balances. Except for making deposits, I can't imagine what else you might want to do. Citibank has a separate section for investment banking, which is also available from this website, but it's a separate service.

Citibank Online Banking Service Is Ridiculous. Las

CitiBank online Banking Service is ridiculous. Last year, I opened an account, which they said to make 2 x 100 dollars (if you save a minimum of $1500, and pay two checks in of no less than 20 dollars each month). Unfortunately, I never got any rebate. In addition, now, I totally dislike their service, and I tried to take out my money, but they charged me 60 dollars because of their tricks. By the way, when I asked them to close my account the first time, the representative hung up on me! I can not imagine a worse service.
