The Webpage Freeze! Can Do No Payments!!!!!!!!!!!

We are trying for 2 weeks now to do payments on several accounts. The webpage freeze everytime you click on next! We can't do business like this! If we try to print a statement it automatically logs you off!! Webpage are terrible!!!!!! With the old webpage we had no trouble at all!

Lack Of Cooperation Taken To New Heights

I have had an ABSA internet account for more than fifteen or twenty years.I inadvertently locked myself out of my ABSA account at the end of last year because ABSA changed the rules. I have been trying unsuccessfully to be reinstated since early January. I live abroad and do not have international roaming on my South African sim card. I have sent the Internet banking officials more than twenty(20) emails asking them to send me an RVN number to my local cell phone number as that is the only number available. I keep getting automated replies telling me that I am important, but nothing more gets done. I have accounts to pay in South Africa but I cannot even access their banking details to get someone else to pay these accounts for me. I have tried to phone the helpline, but get blocked every time I push the appropriate numbers on the automated answering 'service'. It seems the only way I can fix this problem is by flying back to South Africa and doing it personally. Will ABSA pay my flight expenses (approx R10,000) as it is their moving of the goal posts that has put me in this predicament in the first place?

Absent Banc

My bank account was closed twice by ABSA bANC. The first time without any warning or request for documentation and the second after I had handed in the requested documentation. Am I correct in assuming that Maria Ramos (CEO) has allowed her comrades in FICA to freeze / close accounts in ABSA at will?

I had never even heard of FICA before ABSA closed my account.. Proof of my residence was freely available to anyone in the world using Google maps. Three members in my family have had the same problem, me with what must be AAA rating, my nephew's wife ( he is in the super tax bracket) and my sister who is a pensioner. 2 of us have closed our accounts as we object to being treated like criminals when we want to withdraw our money which Absent bANC thinks is theirs. Has anyone else had this ABSA / FICA-up problem?

I Have An Absa Business Account. I Find Absa

I have an ABSA business account.

I find ABSA internet banking to be a real pain. the site is down about 15% of the time I want to use it and as this is a business account and salary payments are sometimes affected I find this unacceptable.

It also very frequently loses its connection and if you are in the process of loading salarie3s or new payees etc it is immensely frustrating.

it also automatically logs off with too little warning and some of the fields you open don't show the warning re imminent log-off and you have to keep logging on again.

My personal accounts are with FNB and I never had one single problem with that site. on this basis alone I am looking at changing my business account to FNB.

I think that it speaks for itself:

"I suppose that I should "thank you" for your "kind response".

Unfortunately (following my vast experience with ABSA) the mail that you've kindly sent me

didn't make sense at all - and after spending more than one hour! (that's more than 60 minutes!)

on the ABSA web site - I still couldn't figure it out ?!

I don't know why ABSA making it so difficult for all of their customers to make something very simple - so hard ?!

I've leaved by now in 4 countries and I've never faced such an unfriendly user customer service environment!

The complaint handling service is simply the worst of any organization I have experienced anywhere in the world!

It seem to me that the entire focus of ABSA - is to respond and dump any complaint ABSA can (as long as ABSA is keeping the service level of 3 days for respond).

I have email a detailed query/complaint and you have replied to me with a meaningless reply -

and I wouldn't be too surprise If this query/complaint will probably be close off (eventually) on your systems - as satisfactorily settled customer ?!

I am extremely irate from this lack of efficiency and seriously consider to move all my business to any of the other South African banks.

You can imagine the repercussion of such a dissatisfied customer - which will "spread the news" to additional South African people

(regarding the poor service received) - can never be "too good" (say the least) for your bank."

The Complaint Handling Service Is Simply The Worst

The complaint handling service is simply the worst of any organisation I have experienced any where in the world. Their entire focus is that they must respond and dump any complaint, anyway they can, within 3 days. You email a detailed complaint, they send you an illiterate, garbled meaningless reply and close off the complaint on their system as satisfactorily settled. They refuse to answer any further questions or respond to further emails. You speak to someone on the phone, they pass it to someone else and they send you an illiterate, garbled meaningless reply and close off the complaint as satisfactorily settled. You go round and round in circles and no cares. If you bank with ABSA then move somewhere else because as soon as you hit a problem with them you have no hope!
