Have A Capital One Credit Card And Have Had To Cal
Have a Capital One credit card and have had to call them at various times and their telephone system is appalling. It is overseas and hardly any of the staff speak fluent English. I have no objection to speaking to people abroad but they should have a good knowledge of the English language. I spoke to 4 different people yesterday and one cut me off because she gave up trying to understand what I was saying and I could not understand what she was saying. I asked the next one for his name because I wanted to know who he was if he decided to cut me off. He said I had no need to know his name and when I insisted he cut me off. I believe a lot of the staff are bluffing their way through the calls and just cut people off if it gets difficult. When I ask if I can have a phone number in UK they say there are none. When I threatened to complain to the Financial Services Ombudsman I was finally put through to someone who could understand me and he resolved my problem. I am still thinking about complaining as it took me 3 hours on the phone.

I loved chevychasebank.com online account access. Their site including the bill payment, pending payments, transferes and everything else was so much SUPERIOR to the garbage that Capital One offers. Capital One Chief Information Officer should be fired on the spot for not adopting the Chevy Chase online banking system. Their phone support is horrible, and clerks are rude. They butched the transition for CCB banking customers to CO. I am closing all account with Capital One for the sake of safety and to avoid any more problems, such as not working passwords, unrequested password resets, terrible customer service with long waiting, and for destroying a perfectly working model of CCB online banking. Way to go: BIG Capital One. (Your IT needs to send people to the same schools that CCB IT went to, really!)

Captial One Bank Is Terrible. We Were Chevy Chase
Captial One bank is terrible. We were Chevy Chase Bank customers and capital one bought them. The transition has been one giant headache for me. My bill payments did not transfer and they cannot tell us why. Our cd is missing and again they cannot tell us why. I cannot get through via phone because of the high volume of calls (gee I wonder why). We are in the process of looking for a new bank. Soon capital one will not be in our wallets.

2. reported no statements since Dec 09 when £300+ in credit, heard curreent balance when on phone.
3. 0800 952 5267 and 400 400 numbers conducted third degree questioning for simple card replacement and no assistance.
4.Unable to contact by e-mail becaused of new balance apparently.
4. Please send final statement for full balance payment and close account.

I Applied For A Cap One Credit Card Last Year To H
I applied for a Cap One credit card last year to help with my credit rating - help? it made it worse. I was accepted for the card and used it regularly and paid the required amount each month towards the £200 card limit, I became unemployed at the beginning of this year and activated my payment protection plan that they advised me to take when I applied for the card - no problem I am covered? Wrong, although in theory I am covered through AXA Insurance I am now almost £100 in arrears. AXA take so long to sort out the PPI that Cap One add defaults each month and then several months along they inform me that I was suppose to pay it each month until the PPI is calculated through AXA Insurance - the defaults were eventually removed but my £200 card limit it is now almost a £300 balance on a card I have not used. I have contacted their Executive Office in England and even their CEO in USA but still nothing has been done to restore my faith in Cap One - I had several letters from them threatening court action and that I would need to pay it in total plus court charges and extra - extra what? I have now raised court action against them for the extra £100 added to my account and for the stress and verbal abuse I get from their office in the Philippines demanding payment and of course they will have to pay the court fees. I reminded them that their company had previously been fined £175.000 in 2007 because of falsely sold PPI? Customer Service is obviously not something they are trained in - I was always taught that the customer is what keeps us in a job? It will cost them a lot more in court fees than it would to reduce the false amount they have added to my account. If I knew then what I know now about Cap One I would never have taken their credit card.

When I first joined Capital One bank there was no direct download link for MS Money, I suggested they should have one and some time later it was available for Money and Quicken
Have used them for at least one year now. When I have needed information they have been most helpful on the phone. No waiting. Free family travel insurance with my world platinum MasterCard. Download statement to MS money. Free anti credit theft information. 1 % cash back on all purchases. I have had no problems during the last year that I have used them.

In my opinion it is best to do everything online with Capital One Classic, you can pay online, download your own statements, so no paper statements are ever posted, if you request this. When I made a complaint about their disgusting phone service a few years back, they acknowledged they had a problem with their customer call centre from abroad and that there were advisers unable to grasp basic understanding of English. When they couldn't understand me (and I speak very clear Queens English, their approach was to cut you off or put you on hold for 20-30 mins). Even some of the call centre staff in Nottingham sound un-interested. Needs vast improvement in their phone manners. Not a very good advert for any company. I think they have realised this and have introduced a fantastic online facility where you can do everything you want without having to communicate with anyone. Probably the best business move they have made !
