Foolishly, I assumed this company Top Man and Van was insured and would address any customer complaints. Unfortunately, I used this company to do a removal from a storage depot to my new home. The removal man lost a large wall mirror & mirror wall fittings in the storage unit. When reported to him he initially said he would replace it. I asked him to replace it with the original item, he refused. He wanted to buy me something he chose from ikea. I said I would have no choice but to follow it up via consumer rights organisations. He told me I could report it to whoever, he would not replace the item.

The storage company has CCTV. The removal man was caught on camera moving the mirror but not putting the item in the van. I am now having to go through the courts for redress as he refuses to co-operate and replace the list item.

Top Man and Van has no insurance, he works as a one man outfit. I had to assist him to carry out the move or else it would have cost me much more than what he charged. Most removal companies have at least two people. Top Man and Van is not a member of the removals association. I would advise anyone based on my experience and Top Man and Van not being a member of an association (that can act on the consumers behalf), not to use this company as you will have have no guarantees of a fair way to address any issues that may arise only via the courts as I am having to do now!
