Great Beginning, Poor Ending

We used Acorn in November 209 to ship some furniture from Dubai to our house in Wales, UK. The Acorn team were brilliant - v personable. The packing team came in like a swarm of locusts and slickly packed up our goods.

When the shipment arrived in the UK the goods went to their UK partners, Cos freight. Cos, however, said they might not release the goods on time due to payment backlogs from Acorn. Our goods got sorted out and released after some frantic calls.

When our belongings arrived in Wales we were SHOCKED at the amount fo damage and breakages to our goods. Whether or not we have insurance is immaterial - the standard of packaging should not have allowed such a high level of breakage.

We have made many international and domestic moves and this was unusual. We also found that items were not packed logically, e.g. flower pots packed with kitchenware.

Our table top is still missing (!) but Cos are hoping it will turn up.

Lesson learnt: Use a major brand name and pay up.

Acorn are aware of this but there has been no call from them or offer of compensation. Reputation and word of mouth are important in expat markets - which is why we called them in the first place - so I am surprised and disappointed with Acorn.

Very happy with the service. Excellent staff and very polite in Dubai and London. Packing was excellent not one item broken. Shipment arrived on time and we also used their storage facilities.

Used them twice to ship from Dubai to Saudi and from Dubai to UK. Great packaging, good price, and professional delivery service.

We have moved our household items from Dubai to Hyderabad, India.

We had terrible time from these people.

Goods are not handled properly, looted additional money.

Do not recommend this company for anyone.

We had a lovely move to Toronto with Acorn. All the way to the end we were regularly kept updated. The moving crew did arrive an hour late for collection but traffic in London is always a give and miss. Acorn managed to take care of all the jiggly bits for us like the parking suspension with the council etc. Overall their team were extremely polite and courteous, hard working, and packed our little flat to a very good standard. Since receiving our belongings at our new home it has all been received intact and free of damages. It was a great move at a very reasonable price.

Dreadful service. No communication. Did not reply to emails. Sent a couple of boxes to UK from Dubai, was sitting there for weeks. I contacted them to ask where it was, said they didn't have delivery details although they had already confirmed with me they had received them when originally sent. Claimed they had been sending emails to wrong address when they had already sent quote to correct address. Absolutely useless.

Throughout the move one thing which striked me above anyting else was the fantastic communication received. Even though there were a couple of niggly bits (more because of our own worries) we always had a move coordinator avaiable to contact directly who would sort out any issue or queries immediately. We would recommend based on our removal as they matched another quote for us and the service was very good.

Acorn Moved me from London to Canada and provided an exceptional service. Communication was excellent and no hidden fees. I paid everything in advance as requested by them and all my belonging arrived in perfect condition. My shipment arrived on time and Great service all round.

Awful. "Forgot" one of our items without telling us and had to go back and get it. Waiting for an insurance claim, which is less than the amount we paid for the premium, several months on. Owner (who appears to be the only employee) infrequently replies to emails. Avoid them like the plague.
