Absolute Shamble

If there is a choice to put no star I would have. The chap that dealt with us was keen to get us signed up so offer us freebies such as premier listing and Tepilo sale board but failed to give us the important details. We were told that there should be 14 days cooling period should we change our mind. We decided to pay by finance and we were asked to read the finance term and condition . When we read the terrible reviews about Tepilo, we decided to cancelled few days later. But we were told we can't. Due to the fact that we were already put the house for sale online. The chap that spoke to us said you should have read the term and condition in the website but at the time of the initial agreement none of this been made clear to us. After spoken to the person who were assigned to us, we been advised by them that due to their recent merged with Emoov, staff may have not given accurate information. This is incompetent and unacceptable. We felt trapped and been had. We done all the photos, floor planning, description of the house ourselves. They took £650 to post the house online and answer the few phone calls about our queries. Not a single viewing for 5 weeks. We went on with a high street estate agent and within 2 weeks we had 7 viewers. We last spoken to our designated person, demanding to have our grievances resolved i.e we would like our property taken off the market and the finance agreement cancelled without incurring us the cost. We have not heard from this person since. Tried to contact them several times, we were told the matter will be passed on to the manager and we will in contact. Not a single call. This is a unprofessional behaviour. The public should be made aware of this. If our case is not resolved , our story will be made known to the media and other sources

Love At First Sight?

I will begin my review by saying that I did some research before adopting Tepilo as my on line estate agent and most of the signs were very positive. However? I did remember one review later on which maybe I should have heeded. I took the £895 classic package, which I was informed covered most things, photos, floor plan etc. You have your own portal and conduct your own viewings, no problem, hunky dory, then the fun begins? I will describe my experience like when boy meets girl or visa versa, lots of attention initially, phone calls, text messages, emails, I was swamped by people from Tepilo offering assistance, never thought so many people could work for an on line estate agent, just like those first few dates though things begun to tail off, no more phone calls :-(, no more text messages :-(, and no more emails, sob, sob. I did sell my property and to an extent Tepilo did work for me. However? When it was coming to my day of completion I did not know who was to hand over the keys to the buyers of my property? went on the Tepilo web site and first checked FAQS and could find no mention, went on the on line chat and the person from Tepilo said that this was the responsibility of my solicitor? Rang my solicitor (who by the way was located in Leicester whilst I was in London) she said that it was the responsibility of the estate agent, rung Tepilo and they said the person dealing with me was unavailable, she will ring you back, no problem except no phone call was forth coming, after ringing them back on numerous occasions and getting fobbed off I finally gave up. In the end I handed the keys over to the buyers myself, which wasn't the greatest as I was moving out and had quite enough on my plate. And the moral of the story is: Although I did save on commission charges and I did sell my property the old adage is, if you want a job doing, do it yourself, and for the most part you do, (do it yourself) which in essence, although Tepilo, like an early romance were there initially, then after a brief fling they decided I wasn't the one for them. I will leave it to yourself to make up your own mind whether this review has helped?????

Unable To Arrange A Viewing As A Cash Buyer!

We have seen a property advertised for sale by Tepilo on Rightmove!

We rang Tepilo to arrange a viewing and was informed by the lady who seemed half asleep or hated her job that she would contact the area rep who would get back to us and confirm. We waited and having received no contact, we tried using their on-line booking tool and our proposed time and date to view came and went, again with no contact. My wife then tried their live chat only to find this was inoperable so again, we tried the on line booking.

I am delighted that we are not the people using them to sell but if I could get hold of the vendors, I would urge them to change their agents. If this is not a one off case, then I would steer well clear and pay extra to actually sell a property!

Wouldn't Give Them 1 Star

Experience with Tepilo. Listed for 5 months and only 3 viewings.

1) The Tepilo Valuations team got the house value completely wrong, I reduced the value at time of listing.

2) Account Manager called me the day before the first viewing recommending I reduce the price. This only two weeks after listing with Tepilo.

3) Account Manager advised that we hold an open house which we did and no one turned up.

4) Sent a couple to view the house and not getting any feedback.

5) Tepilo allowed a viewing of the property without Account Manager being aware until two days after the viewing.

Tepilo act quickly to get your money and property listed. It then goes down hill rapidly. The old adage applies - you get what you pay for.

Just sold our house through a proper, local agent within 3 months. Had 10 viewings with them in 6 weeks, offered in 7.

Stop Calling Me! You Ignore My Request To Leave Me Alone

All I did was look at your website and see how you valued my house and I've been bombarded with calls daily and despite answering and saying I'm no longer interested you ignore my requests to take me off your lists. Bad customer service I will never use you now.

Viewing No Show

Arranged to view a property on with Tepilo, found the woman conducting the booking process to be abrasive, rude and pushy.

We booked to view the property and were told an agent would meet us there.

We turned up after a 45 minute drive to find no agent in sight, waited 20 minutes but nobody showed. Called Tepilo to find out what was going on only to be told this was their answering service and someone might call me tomorrow but she had no info and couldn't chase the agent either. So that was a wasted 90minute round drive on a Saturday afternoon.

Tepilo have lost a sale and any future custom from us.

Cheaper, But A Waste Of Money

Overall a bad experience.

They were incapable of helping us decide an asking price for our property.

Very difficult to get hold of our 'team'. I have waited for days for them to return my calls on several occasions.

We had three viewings in five months.

We changed to a local estate agent which was a lot more expensive but we have had fifteen viewings in less than two weeks and now we have accepted an offer. The local estate agent, Dexters, have been proactive and professional, whereas Tepilo's very limited resources and lack of local knowledge failed us.

The Tepilo experience has been frustrating and annoying; one learns from one's mistakes. You get what you pay for!

Awful Do Not Use

All good - UNTIL something goes wrong after the sale and you need a decent estate agent - at that point you realise they are USELESS! No one even picks up your calls let alone replies to an email. My buyer got nervous because of a loft conversion in my flat - all he needed was some reassurance (which a normal high st estate agent would be able to give) - by the time Teplio called him, my buyer had pulled out - this was a week prior to the exchange of contracts. This cost me a fortune in fees - THINK TWICE - Teplio are cheap for a reason. I found out the hard way. I wrote to their Head Office to complain 3 weeks ago - still waiting for a reply!!!!!!

Unprofessional And Valuation Incorrect

The whole basis of any sale is getting the valuation right. Tepilo have failed utterly in this respect. They have overvalued my home by carrying out a data analysis of sales prices in the area. This is claimed to be updated every three months but they have used properties that were demolished ten years ago to arrive at the valuation of my home. They have also used an average of all properties and failed to distinguish between property details and fail to realise that all houses in a road do not have the same floor plan or specification.

Consequently, the number of viewings has been very low and no offer has been made. This is not surprising as my home has been overvalued by a considerable amount. The "valuation" asks for my agreement to the sale price and my comments. Just why am I paying for a "professional service" if I am supposed to perform the value judgements that professionals are to perform.

I complained to Tepilo about this failure to exercise their duty of care towards me and the responses are derisory. They have failed to deal with each point raised, but have chosen to take the money from my bank account despite me cancelling the contract. I now have to take them to the small claims court to recover the fees.

Customer service has been abysmal if non-existent and there is no proper complaints procedure. The Company fails to be accountable for its lack of action.
