This company (Remax Bexleyheath) let out my flat (which was immaculate) and once the tenants moved out they did everything they could to swerve responsibility for the deposit and the condition of the property. We were paying them a substantial managing fee. They had NOT being doing their three-monthly checks, if they had been they would have noticed that the tenants were v heavy smokers and had put up pictures and horse shoes all over the flat - the walls are littered with holes and rust marks on the wallpaper. All of the paintwork, ceiling, wallpaper - everything - is stained with heavy cigarette smoke. The flat, in my eyes, needs a complete redecoration. Remax have deceived us, lied to us, left us HUGELY out of pocket and taken absolutely no responsibility for the flat. All of the issues with the condition of the flat would not have occurred if the tenants had stuck to the terms of the agreement (which included not smoking) and if Remax had actually managed the flat - or indeed had enough of a backbone to do the job he is paid to do. I have spent hours on the phone and arguing with this company to no avail. I am angry, out of pocket, and now my flat is hardly habitable.
