These Are A Prime Example Of Financial Extortionists
Under no circumstances use these people. They are simply after your money without delivering the goods. They breach consumer legislation in that they demand a cancellation fee (Under distance selling law, you have 14 days to cancel without penalty. They bombard you with emails imposing increasing financial penalties e.g. an initial £14.95 becomes nearly £450. They then threaten to take you to court and actually issue a summons in the small claims court. If all this has not frightened one into paying, they then back out at the last minute and do not pay the hearing fee to the court which leads to the claim being struck out.
My advice: Don't use them; if you do, don't pay them anything, keep your nerve and let it go all the way to a summons. They will give up at the last minute. I am speaking as someone who has been there and know others who have had a similar experience.
Not Worth The Chance
I paid for them to do an epc no reply after sending numerous EMAILS never got in touch do not be fooled
Do Not Touch These People
Advertise no payments taken until assessor is appointed, pay by card and payment taken immediately. Try and contact by phone or email no replies at all except one woman or whoever will look into this and this is all automated responses. You will never speak to a person no matter how hard you try and you will probably like me never see or hear from anyone at all . This is now in the hands of my bank and solicitors. DO NOT TOUCH THIS ************* WITH A BARGE POLE!!!!!
Do Not Use
Warning to all out there not to use FirstChoice EPC as they are a fraudulent company who take your money and don't respond to your email, no engineer calls you and you get ignored. On their website it says someone will call you between 1-3 days but to date we have not heard from anyone. They don't have email address or phone number and are registered company in London with no permanent office. Worthwhile taking your time and researching the EPC company and make sure they have telephone number. I have been trying to get a refund and have taken advise from Trading Standards and been told it would be difficult to get the monies from this company.
Beware!
I asked for an epc report and was told I would be telephoned to make an appointment and that a deposit would be required at the time of agreeing an appointment. I didn't hear for some time so used another company. They eventually got in touch and were told they were too late. I received a bill for nearly half the survey fee. Apparently when you press the button to request them to contact you, you are agreeing to the small print even though you have not actually agreed for them to do the work. I paid for nil service.
The company I did use were prompt at contacting me and I received a report 2 days after their visit.
