Bully, Rude And Misinformed!
My name is Elliot Mann and I run an agency of music teachers in London. We have been contacted by one of White Circle Collection's team. At that time she was lovely and cooperative. We have informed her our terms and conditions and all the essentials that she needs to know before committing herself on behalf of their client to any trial session. The call has been on Thursday evening a day before good Friday. We have informed her we need 48 hours to confirm a teacher but we may need more time as many teachers are now on their Easter break. She was unable to confirm it at the time and her colleague, a second person now representing White Circle Collection has been informed of the same details, understood and paid for 1 trial session. On Good Friday we have been in the office all day from 9am until 9.30pm and alas, we could not find a teacher for their client. I have personally called the second person and informed her we could not confirm a teacher until the end of the Easter break as a result. In addition to that we have also sent her an email to assure her we care about her client represented and we will get it done as soon as possible but probably need some extra time. There has been no response. On Saturday, we got this email from no other than the director of White Circle Collection, or as he describe himself (rather modestly): "I own the company so the buck stops with me" (we prefer to avoid naming them). Here is a perfect quote: "The piano teacher we booked did not turn up. My client is furious as am I. There had better be a bloody good explanation". That followed by a voice message on our answering machine. The word "hell" was mentioned. I informed the dear man we can not and will not be spoken to in that fashion and as a result are not willing to work with him and should his client wishes to have a teacher from us he may simply call us directly and we will sort him out. We have issued them a full refund of their payment still within the 48 hours mentioned to them! Here's his eventual response: "Should you approach our client and provide him with information which our solicitors consider slanderous and or libellous and as such we suffer a loss, we will start proceedings against your firm for both loss of earnings and damages" (threat No.1) "Like any small company you will not want to waste money on trivial lawsuits as it could quite easily create serious cash flow issues for you". (threat No.2) "we are backed by a private investment company who own a number of holdings both in the UK and overseas and we have significant resources at our disposal" (threat No.3) "Elliott, you screwed up and we suffered as a result both economically and by reputation. Rather than apologising you came back with some clap trap excuse about confirmations even though you had taken payment" and to end that wonderful email: "I suggest that you focus on making money by providing the service you propose and if you do I am sure the next review you get will be positive but if you spend your time focusing on this one review rather than on your business you will fail again." (patronising and Patronising and patronising)
WOULD YOU LIKE THIS COMPANY RUN BY THAT PERSON TO REPRESENT YOUR INTERESTS IN LONDON/ UK?
I will leave it to you to decide.
Mr Mann's company accepted a booking which was paid for by White Circle on behalf of a client and subsequently cancelled the booking with less than 24 hours notice leaving our client's son without a music teacher. No attempt was made to find a replacement. Naturally we took Mr Mann to task over this terrible service and breach of contract (funds had been paid in exchange for a service)- a concept which appears to be quite alien to him and eventually received a refund but not before several phone calls and a lot of wasted time by the team.
