dont rent a place with these. Was a tenant for a year with them and hey were totally useless at getting anything done for us.

Been waiting to get my bond back after leaving them and now they haven't even got time to speak to me or to return my calls just to let me know the process or whats going on.

heard many other horror stories, avoid at all costs!

I've now been through the renting process with Mead, and all way going smoothly until I got to my financial reference. I am self employed, earning a not inconsiderable amount of money.Like a lot of self employed people, I rely heavily on friends and family; most importantly my accountant is my brother-in-law. I phoned them and raised this, and asked for other options. After half an hour on the phone, we were still stuck at 'get your parents to guarantee the rent or pay your rent up front'. It was like talking to a tape player - and through it all they were trying to convince me that they were doing /me/ a favor. I've been running my business for three years now - and they still expect me to get a letter from my mother. They couldn't even envisage a second option (like, I don't know, a credit check?)They were no help at all - they threatened to keep my bond if I didn't get it sorted. At least, until I went and got my bond agreement and pointed out the pertinent facts. When I challenged them on who would keep the bond if I didn't let the property, suggesting it was them and that they had absolutely no reason to be helpful at all they went strangely quiet.All in all, visit the Cathays branch if you're going anywhere. The staff in there are always friendly - probably because they arn't administration staff, who seem to live in a culture of depression and despair (just the impression you get when you enter the Pontcanna office, try it!)
