I Rented For 3.5 Years From This Company In A Faci
I rented for 3.5 years from this company in a facility that was sub-standard. I run a self-defense/fitness training center. They did not disclose all the flooding issues inherent in my facility (1/2" to 1" standing water). So for the next 3.5 years, I suffered with damaged flooring, interruption and loss of business and foul smells in my facility. Customers even told me they would come back once I had moved. I had 5 months remaining on the lease and they would not let me move to another facility in the same complex. They said they would not let me out since I had 5 months left. They admitted the flooding was something they should repair, but they felt the weak efforts they made were sufficient, despite not having solved the problem. It just happened to be bad luck for them. An attorney advised me it would be better to just ride out the 5 months, since he had gone after them before with no luck. He said their contracts are too tight and the owners are too rigid to work with anyone, despite not investing money in improving their facilities. They replaced some of my floor mats, but that was nowhere near the full extent of the damage.
