Booked Private Villa With Polaris World La Torre G

Booked private Villa with Polaris World La Torre Golf Villas - villa not as advertised e.g. was not "stunning" nor fully air conditioned (living room only) & it certainly did not have wide open vistas to the golf course (there were too many villas & apartments in the way!). If "child friendly" means that one of the children's bedrooms opens directly onto a steep marble staircase and that the property is largely unfenced to the roads on two sides then it is, otherwise make your own judgement.

To make matters worse, the owners hadn't kept up payments on both the gas & electric & 5 days into our 14 day holiday both services were removed as the accounts were closed because the bills had not been paid! we learned later that the electricity was so far in arrears that the account had been closed altogether and the meter physically removed! The cleaner/key holder could speak very little Spanish and both her and the owners made no attempt to find us alternative accomodation and we were left high & dry in 45 degrees of heat with 2 young children having to locate alternatives ourselves for the remainder of our holiday (9 days) with no offer of compensation provided by the owners at that point. We wasted 2.5 days of our holiday being strung along and even lied to re timescale for the restoration of the services and finally we removed our possessions from the villa (in the dark since we had no power!) and had to call an end to the sorry affair. The power & gas were not restored for 6 days. We have since received an element of refund from the owners but nowhere near the level to cover the remaining 9 days of our holiday, the many overseas phone calls we had to make to the owner nor the 130 Euros of food which went off in the fridge freezer. I would not wish this experience on anyone visiting La Torre and so far as the owners are concerned I will be returning to the Bible to select a suitable plague or pestilence.

Great View Over Main Road And Pool Area. Luckily W

Great view over main road and pool area. Luckily we were near the entrance.Spent a month there. The lift did not work for 14 days. No lights worked on the stairs or in the car park below ground, we where in a 3rd floor penthouse. The noise form a hotel being built across the road was horrendous. The supermarket was greatly over-priced. Everything was geared to remove you of your money. The site has visitors in a catch 22 situation as its isolated, so they have a captive audience if you have no transport. You can drink and eat off site for half the price. Short distance to Chinese buffet, Indian or Long bar Roldan. Take a bus. Do not use this site if you are on a strict budget. Really do your homework before using this Polaris site.

I Would Certainly Stay At Polaris World La Torre I

I would certainly stay at Polaris World La Torre in the future. A car is certainly recommended. We booked a villa which stated it was fully air conditioned. Only one room was however and ceiling fans were used in the bedrooms which were of little use. I would recommend you double check on booking that when they state fully air conditioned they actually mean there are units in all of the rooms. The temperature never dropped below 28 and the rooms were uncomfortably hot.

I am an owner of an apartment on la Torre Golf resort and this is a very accurate report, the complex is lovely but very expensive to eat and drink, staff are nice but service is incredibly slow, a bit of the spanish manjana, there are fantastic chinese and indian restaurants just a two minute drive away [car is pretty essential to enjoy holiday fully]

overall really good resort but ask around for the best places to eat and drink as resort has not yet worked out how to cater bestfor large groups at one time.

cheers dave

I've Just Spent A Week In A Villa At Polaris World

I've just spent a week in a villa at Polaris World La Torre in Murcia, and have to say it was one of the nicest and most relaxing holidays I've had in a very long time. When I got invited, I was a bit suspicious of what to expect, but that's probably down to childhood years at the mercy of Butlins and Pontins.Polaris World La Torre is more of a town than a resort, with a well-stocked supermarket, lively and enjoyable Irish bar in the "town centre", beautiful views, and the inevitable golf course for putting fans. The villa we stayed in was beautiful too. Having earned the master bedroom I was lucky enough to have my own balcony with a view over a vineyard and golf course! The staff on-site were helpful and friendly too. One of our party lost her mobile phone in the taxi and forgot which taxi company we used. The security team were straight on CCTV, found the company, phoned the company and got the driver to look for the mobile phone in his car.Plus, upon arrival, were were given a tour by a resident member of staff who was able to give us her own recommendations for where to eat etc.All-in-all, the week was brilliant. This certainly won't be the last time I visit as I'm already checking my calendar for summer!
