To cut long story short, my family and I rented a property from Suburbia estate agent and stayed there for nearly 2 years. We received a letter from Suburbia estate agent telling us to move out as the landlord wishes to reclaim their property back as they wish to sell the property and not let it out any longer. The landlord even wrote us a letter asking us if we have any intention of buying their property which is the one we were living in, so we knew this is true. Thus, we moved out 1 month later, all in accordance with the period of notification and left the property in the same state as when we moved in.

3 weeks later and after several enquiries about our deposit money, Suburbia estate agent turned around and said there is no deposit money is due back to us as there are substantial amount of making good works required. We were shocked as we do not think that we are a filthy, dirty, unhygienic people who lived in a trash environment (these words were the exact words Suburbia estate agent used to describe the state of the property when we moved out)!!! So we called the landlord to clarify...guess what, the landlord knew NOTHING of it as they were based in Birmingham and they hadn't even inspected the property!!! Ultimately, we asked the landlord straight up if they have any intention of deducting any money from our deposit as I felt that we had been nothing less than a decent honest prompt-in-payment tenant!!! Sure enough we received the response which we thought it would be, which is "NO, I don't think there is a need for it" by the landlord.

Anyway, after few more heated conversations on the phone with rude, unhelpful, un-interested staff of Suburbia estate agent, i regret to say that I am now in legal battle with Suburbia estate agent.

Overall, I definitely would not recommend them to anyone. If you are looking for estate agents in Hatfield, there are others such as Country Properties, Wrights, Space-Letting, Raine&Co, etc. These agents are all based in Hatfield and actually cover more properties than Suburbia estate agent.
