We rented a property through this agent for 3 years. At the end of the tenancy they have asked for nearly £700 from us from our deposit to pay for 'cleaning of cobwebs', 'indentations on carpets where furniture has stood', 'lint on skirting board', 'weeds'. This on a house that was not well maintained and is nearly 100 years old. They didn't discuss anything with us beforehand, we had 6 monthly inspections that were always excellent - no problems at all. They are clearly just trying to get some pocket money for their landlord clients who are now putting the house, 110 Bunkers Hill on the market. The fact is the house is dilapidated and much in need or renovation - they would like us to help pay to do some repairs they should have done while we were there.

Absolute disgrace of a company. If you are considering renting in Lincoln do not go for Starkey & Brown. There are plenty of other companies to choose from. We're currently going to arbitration to get our hard-earned money back from them.
