Lightfoots LLP - Solicitors & Estate Agents, Oxfordshire

We have been moving and renting with different lettings agents for the past 8 years and Lightfoots are the worst we have come across. Very rude staff with no phone manners, they talk to tennants like they are beneath them and they do 'inspections' every 3 months which feels very invasive of privacy. Every 6 months is okay but 3 months is too much. They make note of things during these "inspections" that they never action which results in them noting the very same things in every single 3-monthly visits. They visited the property we were renting one time and I apologised in advance for the less-than perfect tidiness because my husband way away on business trip and I had 2 kids below the age of 3 on my own. The 'mess' consists of a few bottles that needed to be washed by the sink and some toys in the living room as well as some washing that were hanging on an iron maiden to dry in the bathroom. Couple of days later, I receive a letter saying they were 'concerned about the general cleanliness of the house'. I phone them straight away to request to speak to the agent who visited. I was told she was on lunch. An hour and a half later, I phone again and was told she has left for the week on holiday but would phone me back. She never did. The offending letter also said another inspection on a given date would be done to make sure that the situation has been rectified to their standards. The letting agent did not come back on the date stated on the letter. They are very quick to demand rent 'today' when they take ages to give bond back. One time, they sent some workers to fix a drain we have repeatedly reported to them on a day where i told them I would be out because I needed to go to my kid's school and my hubby had an important meeting at work. They had the gall to suggest that the come home to flush the toilet to see if the workmen did their job properly. Saying if he didnt, they would have to charge US a call out charge. They insisted we be home on certain dates for various reasons (inspection, work to be done), never mind if we inform them well in advance that we had doctor's appointments, meetings etc. I have so many examples of how unprofessional this letting agency is but the bottom line is, people looking to rent in Bucks should not go with Lightfoots. I would not wish them on my worst enemy
