Cairds Are The Worst

We had one of the worst renting experiences with Cairds, I honestly could write a book about how bad their service is. Not only do their staff gossip all day in the office about tenants, they allow HORRIBLE landlords to rent their poorly kept properties out and the agency does nothing to prevent it. We had so many issues in our flat from DAY ONE which Cairds blind sided us too & we ended up spending our own money to resolve the problems as the agency and the land lord was no help at all. We rarely complained but when we did, shortly after we was handed our 4 week notice. Kicked out with a brand new baby, because we complained about a washing machine that was damaging our clothes. (We was planning on leaving anyway as we couldn’t justify living their any longer, but despite this, they still served us a notice with no reason and/or courtesy from the Landlord)

Upon moving in, we was promised a professional clean, we never received one, the flat was disgusting with things broken. Previous tenant had animals living in the flat, despite it being on the contract that no pets were allowed. From day one, we had a broken bathroom fan, broken bath panel, broken curtain rail, broken shower holder, broken washing machine drum and filter, broken light bulbs, unclean flat full of animal hair, dirty oven, thermostat needing replacing, mildew growing, drafty windows, paint peeling, flooring unlevel, skirting boards hanging off, nails all over the walls... I could go on, the list really is endless.

When we told Cairds our property wasn’t clean upon arrival as promised & in the contract, they did nothing and offered no solution. From then, the flood gates of problems opened. The flat we rented wasn’t ventilated properly with no air vent and drafty windows causing mould to grow throughout the building over the period of our year stay, when we mentioned to Cairds, they told us it’s our own fault and to ‘Open a window’… In the middle of WINTER with a new born baby. They offered no solution to ANY issue we raised, everything was OUR fault (even though it wasn’t) We couldn’t believe it. In the end we stopped trying and paid out for a dehumidifier for the sake of our baby to help with the moisture in the air causing the damp. This should of been an expense they or the landlady paid for after all we are giving them our rent money, on time, every month for a flat with absolute no up keep. The land lady should be ASHAMED, but I’m sure she wont be, as the agency allow her negligence. After all she has kept the same mouldy curtains and dirty, stained shower curtain for every tenant for at least the past 4 years going off the photographs on the letting. Absolutely disgusting. We kept them in storage and got them back out before leaving, we couldn’t justify using such things.

Cairds do not adhere to their own contract & do not live up to their end of the bargain. They especially like to grab onto vulnerable tenants who they think won’t complain, but unfortunately for them, that’s not how it works. Some people may pay the rent, keep quiet and put up with that, but definitely not us. Rubbish service & will NEVER be using them again. We are so glad to be gone and not forced to pay a penny more towards that horrible land lady.

Thank God our deposit was protected and there were no crafty moves to try and deduct any funds from us… Probably because they had no leg to stand on if they wanted to try.

Good luck to the new Tenants who use Cairds and their dodgy landlords. You’re gonna need it!

Shocking Experience With Cairds Epsom

If you’re thinking of finding a letting through Cairds in Epsom, think again!! They represent shocking landlords and treat tenants worse than 2nd class citizens. I signed a 2 year lease and the estate agent on behalf of their client decided to include a 6 month review clause!! This plus requesting I pay 6 months rent up front - errrr despite working and living in the U.K. for 15 years and good agency references.

5 months in and after upgrading and repainting and repairing the property I received a letter by an estate agent who Moho looked like a school leaver. No cal no this is coming, nothing! No service or care despite paying £2450 pcm.

They are appalling. Leaders in Epsom as superb and in a different league. I am now resorting to legal action so just don’t do it - plenty of other great estate agents to choose from :-) more service and customer orientated and trained.

We had a very similar experience. The landlords they represent are AWFUL & us tenants are the ones who experience the consequences!

Excellent Service

From start to finish of the process, I was struck by the enthusiasm and professionalism of this company. The person I dealt with inspires confidence and his team delivers. The structure of the sales team means you can always speak to someone with knowledge of your property. Most of the process was conducted during the difficult time of Covid19 but they pulled out all the stops to ensure the impact to me was kept to a minimum. This is without doubt the best Estate Agency I have ever dealt with.

Don't Go With Cairds At Any Cost.

Cairds found a buyer for my house and told me to take my house off with all the other estate agents, after waiting for nearly a month with no survey yet booked, the so called purchaser still trying to get his mortgage agreed.

so why did they tell me to loose all other sources of selling my house but them, i am back on the market now and are under offer with another agent. They advised me he is still trying to get a mortgage and wants my house.

One of the staff members told me a mortgage agreed in printable wasn't worth the paper its written on.

Cairds only think of there selfs. Don't believe them ether when they say a buyer is ready willing and able, ask for proof or you will have no buyer and no house on the market. Cairds sends agents to show buyers round that have never been to your house so you end up showing them around yourself.

Cairds don't like any competition and only got me Five viewings, my other agent got me Twenty Six viewings.

When you want to make a complaint they do not understand why your not satisfied with this incompetence.

Really Poor Service

I've been trying for 3 weeks to view a house in Epsom via Cairds and it is proving impossible. When I call I get passed around, they take my details and then never call me back. When I chase they say that their diaries are full and suggest I call back next week. If I was selling my house I would be very disappointed that a buyer ready to proceed cannot get an appointment. They must be under-staffed. I would not recommend dealing with Cairds.
