Diabolical Lack Of Service - Avoid !!!

We took a gold policy out in Nov 2014 for our 3 young dogs. We made a small claim (£245)in June as one of the dogs had a tiny lump in her chest that was cut out (thankfully just a milk duct blockage and all ok). We informed HomeBase and filled out the forms. Gave to the vet to complete and paid the excess of £75. In August the vet invoiced us as they'd not heard from HomeBase? So we contacted HomeBase who said they'd not received the dogs history records. The vets said they'd sent them (and had it on computer to show dates sent) but they sent them again - whilst I was there - via email. Over 2 months later the vets have still not got their money and we've received 2 policy renewal reminders?! Phoned HomeBase today and they said they've still not received the dogs history records!! They were told in no uncertain terms that I was there when they were last sent and to contact the vets themselves as they were getting paid to do absolutely nothing !!! I phoned the vets an hour later to find they had been in touch and they'd had to resend the details for a 3rd time!!! Will have to see if what happens next. But we've NOT renewed with them and strongly recommend that no-body else does if they want any kind of service.

Insurer Beware

Ithought I would give them a try as they are a reputable company and I thought it would be plain sailing "NOT"I put in a claim after I had informed Claim department that I was doing so.Four weeks later NO payment received, phoned claims department and was told they had not received Claim Form, informed my Vet who said they had sent it in the same day,so he sent it in again in 3 ways e-mail--fax straight to claims--and post. They acnowledged receipt. Two weeks later still no payment and by this time dog had had second op and I was up to £600 owing, rang Claims department agin and was told they still had not received first claim even though they had acknowledged receipt.By this time I was really furious and told the young Lady this was the worse Pet Ins I had ever dealt with and with that she finally found the first claim form that was sent in,however to date I still have not received anything for either first or secong claim so watch this space.I was foolish enough to purchase the GOLD plan because I thought it would give me priority it shows how wrong you can be.They certainly were not tardy in sending me a Renewal Notice Though!!!

Homebase Pet Insurance

Be very very carefull if you are considering Homebase Pet Insurance!!!

In March 2010 we insured our Pedigree, Hip Displacia and cataraact checked Chocolate Labrador Puppy, 10 days later she broke her leg! We were told twice that we were not covered as the accident happened in the 14 day qualifying period. 3 months and £1000 later on further enquiries we were told that we had been misinformed and that we were covered and duly paid out. If that further enquiry had not been made they would not have contacted us we would not have been paid.

Obvioulsly because of the broken leg we are unable to change insurers. The premium has been increasing, nothing ever goes down dispite the face that Cocoa has not been to the vet at all since her leg was fixed. The premium for 2013/2014 was £299.82, the renewal has just come in at £513.58!!! Yes I have queried the amount with them, Yes the case has been referred to their recalculation department, No they are not reconsidering this nearly 70% increase!!! Once they have you they charge what they like and there is no course for redress!!! We have no choice, you have !!
