Purchased insurance TPFT for a 125cc bike, 6 months later changed bike/ Phoned Performance Direct who instructed me that the cheapest they could do was actually much more than what I could get elsewhere, and that was for fully comp. In the end I had to just cancel the policy and loose what had already paid for the next 6 months.
I thought this to be totally unreasonable.

Error-strewn Processes, Sneaky Website, Dire Call Centre
Performance Direct mis-transcribed various details which I had entered via compare the market, including substituting my home address for the address the motorbike was to be kept at.
Their Ryanair-style website, lots of big flashing options to buy extras but key details concealed as far as legally possible, then concealed this and a string of other transcription errors from me whilst I confirmed the transaction.
When the mandatory call came in from their call centre the background noise was such that both I and their staff struggled to hear some another, and the staff were rude - speaking over me to barrell through their processes irrespective of whether or not they fitted the situation.
Will not be using them again, and would recommend to anyone else that they give them a wide berth. Faulty systems, unethical use of user interface design, and poor staff.

I heard about grove and dean from a friend and am very impressed with all aspects of their company. There's employees are friendly and really know there stuff which surprised me as i would usually dread renewing insurance due to the hassles of countless phone calls and form-filling.would definitely recommend to anyone looking for cheap rices and good service.

I just recently had my insurance canceled after 5 months spent by them because their marker policy wouldn't cover my new address and new bike.Yet a week later i got a quote from them on a marker policy for my new address and new bike! These Brokers are bad and they know it because they won't send me the quotation and keep stating they never quoted me. The quote was for £600+ this is 3 times the price i paid for a policy i got elsewhere and it doesn't include roadside recovery, leathers/helmet and personal injury covers,legal and non claims protection!
Grove and Dean, now calling themselves Performance Direct make you print out all your documentation,proofs of non claims and provide relevant paper work ie proof of driving licence,proof of non claims with demands within 14 days or their cancel your policy and not refund premium!
BE WARNED STAY CLEAR OF THIS BROKER GROVE & DEAN/PERFORMANCE DIRECT

As all the other reviews state, they said that I had put my
Information in wrong and charged me £40 so I could have it corrected. Otherwise my insurance would be cancelled for £55. Absolute joke, will definitely check reviews before purchase next time.

I have just got a new dirt bike that I green lane and need some insurance on it as i ride it on short sections of roads so went for the cheapest quote on compare the Meerkat as you do. Thinking it was all insured I then received a phone call saying they needed to check some details so went through some questions, the answer's they said I had put down were different to the ones they had. They said I had put down bh234532 for my number plate but any one can see that's not a valid uk number and why would i do that! So I said there computer was wrong and the details I had entered were right but they insisted I had made the mistake so i said i wanted to cancel they said this would have a cancellation charge and as i had been insured for 4 days they would have to charge for that and it worked out to be more than what I had paid so I then had to pay an extra £40 to make the amends on the info they said I had got wrong so in my eyes they are connn men/women do not use this company
Oh and i wonder if i need to make a clam im actually insured!!!!!!

Appeared to be much cheaper than current insurer for a new car.
Accepted quote and paid deposit. When accepting quote,advised Performance Direct that cover note required before collecting car the following day at 10.00am. Despite going over details twice on two separate calls and being promised an electronic copy of the policy and cover note that evening, nothing received. Made several calls requesting cover note first thing the following day. Kept waiting for 15 mins on one call. Eventually hung up. Sent 3 e-mails requesting cover note; no response. Had to contact another insurer who provided a similar quote and cover note by return. Cancelled Performance Direct immediately and now trying to recover the deposit. Mastercard refused to stop the card payment! Absolutely useless!

Arrogant And Obstructive
The worst ever brokers. Expect to wait for up to an hour each time you are redirected and do not believe the prices quoted they will increase by as much as 40% once they have your initial payment and you query where your documents are. Whoever you speak with will not be able to help and will redirect you for yet another 40-60 minute wait. If you want a motor policy and have two or three days to spend on the telephone at three to fours hours each time and don't mind the price getting hiked then these are the guys.Otherwise AVOID at all costs.

Appaling Deceitful Insurance Brokers!
Performance direct auto renew polices, having called to cancel my policy at renewal in 2012 which they did not do and I did not receive a refund they have tried it again 1 year later!
On trying to resolve this matter, the staff are rude, ignorant and have no concept of customer service. No doubt they are use to ripping people off hence just talk over you on the phone.
Avoid this company, there are plenty of good honest insurance brokers around who dont try take your money on the sly.
