Constant Chasing And Inefficiency
My bike was stolen 6 weeks ago. I have made so many calls and they are constantly waiting for their internal Claims Assessor to "get back to them". They make it sound like they are in different companies not in the same office - which I know they are.
My claim is simple and they have all teh details. Making a decision should be a 1 minute task. I just want to get this settled then find someone else for my replacement bike - not these guys!

I Had Insurance With Equality Red Star Via Bennett
I had insurance with Equality Red Star via Bennetts Brokers,in October 2014 i px my motorcycle from a Harley 883R to a BMW R1200Gs adventure, subsequently I had to phone up Bennetts Broker to arrange cover for the BMW and was quoted £220 on top of my existing premium paid which was £150 with 5 years non claims bonus and full comprehensive.I agreed at the time because I needed the insurance cover to ride home because i couldn't shop around with my orange mobile because of inadequate coverage.Later i found out that I was charged a years premium to up grade my existing policy with 8 months left.I wrote to the Financial Ombudsman to sort out this over payment, they have instructed on matters when i wrote to Bennetts Insurance Broker and instructed me to write to Lloyds Under writers. After all this time the Financial Ombudsman did nothing but sat on the case and pocket government money, which has taken the best part of a year to come to nothing because the Financial Ombudsman are an arbitrary body and not a regulatory authority like i thought. So it seems Lloyds underwriters can do what they want with Equality Red Star Insurance which amounts to legalised robbery and the financial Ombudsman are in their pockets or in the Government pockets to do nothing much but liaise.

I'm Not Sure.
Even though I haven't claimed over a crash or theft with them I think there one of the better ones. I had a small balls up with my millage, didn't include 1 place of work, resolved pretty fast even though it was £92 more to change but I think thats normal because I'm driving more.

Well From Reading Around I Believe Equity Star Pai
Well from reading around I believe Equity Star paid out for my motorbike theft comparatively quickly. It took five weeks and many phone calls. The initially said it's been authorised, then said no it hasn't. They also said they didn't received the report even though the investigation company had sent it. They said the money will be in your account on Wednesday, a week later it wasn't thus needing another two calls to hassle them.
However my motorbike would not have been stolen had their out of hours service actually had my details on file. By the time recovery was arranged for my bike the theives had had it away in a van lock and all. I went through Direct Choice insurance brokers.
