Stay Away!!! Worst Company Youll Ever Come Across.
Worst company ever!! I've been involved in a RTA motorbike accident and I've reported it to them. The first person I've spoke to was a complete idiot he didn't know what to do or say he had to put me on hold countless times to aks someone else. After an hour all he said is that someone will call me back. They are abslotu idiots and grabbing money bast..ds.my claim is still not resolved my bike is still not fixed my bike gear worth £1000 is still not paid for. They are just messing about I gave them the criminal reference number from the police with all information about the other person and its insurance and now they said they haven't got it. They are incompetent and stupid. I wish I have read the reviews before buying the insurance with them. They are fine until you need them. It ridiculous. If you want insurance with CIA then don't have any accident as stupid as it might sound because then you won't have any problems but as soon as you make a claim you're down. I haven't mentioned that the claim was also 100% not my fault and they're dealing with it like that I'd be scared what would happen if it was 50/50 or my fault.
My advice is cheaper is not always the bestif you see CIA and other insurance company who's little bit more expensive go with them

Involved And Helpful
I have been searching for insurance for the past few days, and CIA definitely was very helpful and friendly towards me. They didn't offer me the best rates, but they were courteous and active in my dealings with them. After putting in my information they called twice in the next hour to verify the information and to make sure that everything was going well for me. Definitely would recommend to anyone that can afford their rates. Being a college student, I had to choose another company due to lack of funds, but I was very impressed with them being involved with my desire to be with them.

chap who i spoke to be-littled me, in a way that he talks down to you. most companies nowadays are like this so i got over it. not only that 3 months later my precious gets stolen, and this la parisine would pay out. despite this poxy cat a alarm they go on about, and in a garage!!! slimey money grabbing bugga's DONT USE THEM!

My hsuband died in a RTA involving his motor bike and i'm desperatly trying to get in touch with the insurance company La parisienne mce insurance but the number I've been given is a fax. If any one knows their number plaese help.

Shocking Customer Service
After taking a policy with CIA I crashed my brand new bike three months after purchase. As I was in hospital I instructed my brother to deal with the claim on my behalf. Two weeks later and out of hospital I still had no idea of whether bike was being repaired or written off. After four more phone calls over the next two weeks I was still no further forward as I was palmed off with the excuse my advisor was on another call and would ring me back as soon as he was free. One more call later and finally I've been told my bike has been written off and an offer of 4200 pounds is on the table. This is laughable as I bought the bike for 7400 . Surely a bike does not depreciate 3200 in three months. I was told if I want to contest this decision I should personally search the classifieds and send them copy's of bikes for sale for more than 4200. I find they're customer service shocking and intend to contact the financial ombudsman .

Got Me Out Of A Fix
Having had a terrible time with MCE I asked on a Bike forum for recommendations for a good company. CIA were the only company that no one said anything bad about. So I gave them a chance.
The online form got stuck when I started listing my bikes modifications, but as it was very late at night and I was tired I gave up. The next morning at a reasonable time my phone rang and it was CIA on the line. They asked my why I had stopped with my quote and would I be interested in completing it?
I set out my reasons and they were dealt with and with in ten minutes I had a quote for a modified bike. I said that I would give it some thought, my recent bad experience with MCE had left me feeling very mistrustful of Insurance companies. However with no insurance and no other way of getting to work I had to get it sorted fast.
I phoned them back after about three hours and got straight through to the desk with no waiting. I spoke to the same gentleman again and he had me covered to ride my bike with in minutes. Twenty five minutes later I had an e-mail with my document attached. It listed exactly what I had asked for and covered me for exactly what I wanted.
I learned a very hard lesson dealing with MCE and made sure that I wrote down every detail with CIA and their notes and my notes matched exactly. Although I have not had to deal with them, my initial feeling is of peace of mind. I am prepared to give them a chance
Actually, Plantec carried out the work, they have their own workshops and fleet of hire bikes. I don't know who you are,but you clearly have no idea who I dealt with. I posted this review to help people, not troll a website with misinformation.
plantec deal with correspondents between insurers and the parties involved, such as your legalities, paperwork and road positioning, risk calculating etc. your repairs would have been with a contracted garage, more than likely a local one to you. which underwriter were you insured with?
Sorry to disappoint you, I have now been with CIA for two years and am in no hurry to change. My bike was run over while parked this year and it was very easy dealing with CIA. My bike is heavily modified and and all parts were replaced with the same quality parts that I had used. The work was carried out in two weeks, but my bike was away for three months while the other side argued over damage caused. Finally my bike was resprayed and the damage repaired. The only down side to this was that the company who did the work, did a shoddy job and I was forced to return the bike to them to be resprayed for a second time. As great as CIA are, I would prefer not to use their repair company Plantec. With all of these things, I would strongly suggest that you review your own paper work and not trust some muppet on the end of a phone. I learned a very harsh lesson dealing with MCE that I will not ever forget and sadly I now treat all insurance companies with mistrust unless they prove otherwise. So far CIA have been true to their word.

I View Insurance Like A Parachute, You Only Ever K
I view insurance like a parachute, you only ever know how good it is when you need it. Customer service of CIA has been good BUT La Parisienne and the loss adjuster CIA choose o use look to find ways in the policy wording not to pay. I know this after a theft claim that I am now instructing solicitors to fight, as they are trying to rely on interpretation of a fundamental clause that if they are correct means no bike is ever insured if it is not at your home address overnight, every night. This makes the policy useless and impractical ! Be Warned - I would never use them again.
Ask the question, If I travel and leave my bike, locked and secure but not at home - is it insured ?
Get the answer in writing.
Best still don't use them because of the loss adjusters they associate with.

I Most Certainly Cannot Recommend Them.
I most certainly CANNOT recommend them.
My bike was stolen 2 weeks ago, immediately reported to the Police and the Out-Of-Hours Call takers for the insurance who stated they would pass details on. I received a telephone call from CIA the following morning requesting details of the incident again, which I provided and notified them the police had recovered the bike and gave details of the recovery company.
The next day I telephoned to get an update... they had no record of the incident, so everything was passed again (this was now Friday morning)
The Engineering firm they used was based in Surrey, I live in Yorkshire. Collected the bike on the Tuesday morning and a further 2 days later provided the obvious report that the bike was beyond economical repair.
The theft specialist company TCF Motors has now spent a week creating their report... this is according to CIA every time I call and get told they are still waiting for the report from TCF.
So 2 weeks and 2 days since my bike was stolen I am still without transport, payout, and in my opinion decent service.

Cia Motorbike Insurance Is A Joke! I Paid For
CIA motorbike insurance is a joke!
I paid for my insurance on a monthly basis, I paid £32 upfront then cancelled the insurance 3 weeks after taking it out due to selling it.
They then went to take out 3 futher monthly installments after calling them and writing to them the day the bike was sold, they said dont worry as they will refund the DD's taken out, and told me not to cancell the DD other wise I could get into trouble with their finance dept.
After the 3rd DD was showing in my bank account i phoned and got it reversed and then called them to find out where my refund was and why they there still taking payments.
Ive now had a bill for another £23! so that means they will have had £80 for 4 weeks worth of insurance when the whole years was £130!
This company just want to rip you off by saying most is non refundable and use so many different 3rd party's that you have a nightmare sorting anything out.
AVOID!!!
