When they sell this to you, it sounds great. The problem is when you go to use it, they think of every excuse they can not to take care of the problem. They try to make it such a hassle that you just drop it and move on. I think it was a waste of money, but I hold Office Depot just as responsible because they are the ones that sell it to you. I won't buy another square trade protection plan and I won't shop at Office Depot.

Claim process was started on 06/17 finally received it on 07/13 after repair. Square Trade did not inform either for this delay every time I called and asked for the update.

On 07/11 with in few hours gap received two emails one for delay and another one about item was repaired ready to ship , it creates doubt in my mind, thought to check with customer however did not get any solid answer for it.

While checking the repaired laptop found that graphics card was missing since they replaced my main board ,called the customer care right away to get the details after waited for more than 30 mint got hold of someone however did not got the answer.

Main board they replaced is not matching with the original versions of main board. Another problem was list of repaired/replaced items they updated in their system was not matching with the documents they shared with me. Customer executive told me that he will check and get back, but he did not. After few days I called and asked for update , but it was repeat telecast of earlier story.

Since they did not get back thought to check the merchant form where I bought the 2 years protection plan, the store general manager dialed up their escalation number but funny thing was that he got some after 30 mint.

After taking with the Square Trade executive it seems that they do not know the value of customer, just they are doing charity. Not sure when it will be fixed.

Buying the cover was easy on Amazon, making the purchase at the same time as buying the product to be insured.

A clever idea Square Trade has is to delay the start of the cover by a few days to give the insured item time to arrive.

The cover was very reasonably priced and reading the small print didn't give any shocks - everything seems to be covered, with no hidden bits that would make the policy void.

I made the claim easily by telephone, the instructions given were clear and were sent to me by email as well.

Within a few days of the item being returned - post paid by Square Trade - I received notification that the claim had been successful and full payment was made promptly.

Insured item has been replaced and, of course, covered by Square Trade!

I would recommend this insurance to anyone.
