3 Losses In 5 Years Coverage, Only Twice Did We Ma
3 losses in 5 years coverage, only twice did we manage to get an adjustor to attend, and never recieved any payment or repair to the major structural damage to our homes. In one case the only way we knew the claim had even been received in spite of frequent follow up calls was that they sent us a customer satisfaction survey 1 year after the fact! In that case we had severe hail damage to our vehicles (covered by another company, yet they state that there was only $235.00 damage to our roof and cedar siding. We are still living with 10% of our shingles torn off and visible dents in the siding and fascia. In our most recent incident a water pipe split at -37C and flooded our secondary residence, damaging the floor, walls, and contents. SMI declines to insure because they have decided that the property is "vacant".
We are a couple in late middle age, and previously hadn't had any home claim experience in over 30 years. We will be moving our personal liability insurance and home insurance from Saskatchewan Mutual as soon as we can find a reliable provider.
