Get A Rival Web Quote
They seem to be OK, but when they send you a paper quote for the next year's insurance DON'T ACCEPT IT. Go online and get rival quotes e.g. from moneysupermarket.com. I've just increased my contents insurance from £50k to £70k and obtained a quote that's almost £30 cheaper online.

My Buildings Claim Has Only Recently Been Complete
My buildings claim has only recently been completed - the relatively simple claim began in April 2006 !
We have put up with so much hassle and inconvenience - including one contractor who was so intimidating we had to request that he never returned to our property ! After several bodged attempts and 3 contractors, the work is finally complete but we are pursuing financial compensation to make up for the nightmare that is Liverpool Victoria

A Construction Company Have Flooded My House Whils
A construction company have flooded my house whilst constructing the A590 bypass. They have admitted partial liability and advised me to put the claim with my insurers. Liverpool Victoria Home Insurance have been awful, and a detailed complaint is now with the Financial Ombudsman. You only know how good an insurance company is when you come to claim. This claim should be more straight forward than most as Frizzell (Liverpool Victoria) can recover the costs from the construction company's insurers (Royal & Sun Alliance) however I have had to suffer fly infestation; no heating and hot water for 1 week when I have 2 children under 10; an expectation of staying in my house whilst the ground floor has the flooring ripped out, plaster hacked off the walls etc etc. I have currently refused to allow the building contractors (who seem quite reasonable) into my house to carry out the repairs until my complaints have been dealt with. - It's going to take a long time!
I have had similar problems with Frizzell Home Insurance. Our home has been flooded with surface water thanks to seven or eight large holes left in the foundations by the builder. We moved out of our for seven months and followed the advice given by Homeserves so called experts, until they started giving conflicting information. At the last count, repair work recommended by them and not covered on our insurance was going to cost in excess of £20,000; when in fact my husband fixed the problem with some silicone, four bags of cement and a piece of new pipe, total cost £150. If we hadn't undertaken the work ourselves we would still be out of the house and bankrupt.
The job of reinstatement was held up by Homeserve contractors who could not agree on the works in hand, homeserve never responded, to calls and the constant damage the contractors made to our once beautiful home. When asked the contractor told Homeserve they had replaced floors in four areas when in fact they had actually only replaced two. They also tried to use the old materials instead of replacing with new when statement of work clearly requested new!
Thanks for that I am looking to re new my home insurance this month and i know now not to go with them. Stick to your guns after all, you deserve more.

Frizzell Home Insurance Offer Excellent Coverage A
Frizzell Home Insurance offer excellent coverage and no quibble claims. I have had 2 claims recently; one for my contents and one for the building, and both have been speedily dealt with. Polite operatives. My sons claim for stolen property was all dealt with a paid out in a week. Excellent.
It may cost slightly more than some policies, but I have been with this company for years, and they are easy to get hold of and claims are quickly dealt with.
