Worst Insurance Company

This company is an absolute rip off they call you demanding money after you have paid already giving you 7 days to pay. They charged me over £2000 for my car insurance and are now demanding more as they didn't change some of my policies. Don't don't buy any insurance from these people.

Been Charged £30 For Their Mistake!!!

After renewing my policy (took over an hour and they lost my documents) they failed to collect the premium from my bank account, they then proceeded to charge me £30 late fee. After a few phone calls and emails I thought we had the issue sorted and then I received an email that the charges will stand because I did not inform them of my new bank details (I have no new bank details). After calling them (another 20 min wait to talk to someone) I informed them that the bank details are the same as they always had been they tried to tell me that the funds were not available in my bank account. I offered to send a copy of my bank statement to prove the funds were there and explained that basic mathematics could prove me innocent, they have agreed so I am waiting to see the result. I am worried about how their conduct would be in the event of a claim I feel I can't trust them.

Fuming!

I bought a new car and Quote A car was the cheapest on Go compare so I called them to get insured I was on the phone for 2 hours which kept getting disconnected so he called me back on 4 different lines for him to 2 hours later increase the amount shown on go compare by 65 quid. I wasn't told of a 50 pound charge to cancel my policy in the 14 day period and 24.30 charge to have been insured for 1 hour. I haven't even driven tge car yet they've managed to get 64.63 pound out of me. Absolutely rubbish service with rude snappy employees I didn't speak to 1 I spoke to 5 different advisers and all 5 were the same.

Quote A Car Insurance Joke!

At the end of June I purchased a policy from Quota A Car based on a quote I was provided through confused.com.

I went through everything and confirmed several times that there was to be no voluntary excess and I was wanting a minimal compulsory – the quote on confused.com stated £150.00 which was perfect for my needs – ironically I’m still been quoted this by the company!

To my bemusement when the schedule came through almost a MONTH after purchasing, it stated a £950 excess along with limited mileage!

It was listed as £75 Windscreen Excess – which is standard for just about any company

£750.00 Compulsory excess

£200.00 Voluntary excess

When I phoned to challenge this the lady I spoke to said that it was ALL compulsory excess and that the breakdown was just for show?!!! I mentioned to the call handler that when I looked online and got the original quote I was quoted £150 excess with which she replied well things change and we advise against getting a quote online and to just ring. What’s the point of getting a quote through Compare the Market or Confused.com if this is the case? Its false advertising as your definitely not getting what you have requested.

Very little on my policy schedule is what I had requested and obtained a quote for in the first place. With an excess of £950.00 unless you have a brand new car what’s the point of having insurance? It’s cheaper going through the MIB as an uninsured driver.

Without been rude the call handler I spoke to seemed disinterested and had a ‘so what?’ attitude. I don’t know if this is something the company has as a general criteria for employment as I’ve had the same almost every time I’ve called as well as been kept on hold for a prolonged period of time each time – every call has been over half an hour on hold through the call queue and the call handler putting me on hold and bouncing from person to person. Credit where its due I spoke to a gentleman on Saturday regarding the insurance documents which I still hadn’t received almost a month after the policy was purchased, he was very professional and really easy to talk to, so well done to him. When I took the initial policy out it took the handler over 20 minutes to set up a direct debit! I know from personal experience in a call centre environment that this takes no more than a few minutes however he tried to fob me off with we need to get it verified when challenged. I know this is total rubbish, I used to set up direct debits frequently.

When she suggested if I wasn’t happy I should cancel as she wouldn’t review the policy, initially the call handler wanted to charge me £125.00 for a cancellation as I was out of my 14 days since the policy started. When I challenged this and advised what it said in the terms and conditions she responded with no your out of your cooling off period. I ended up reading the Term and Conditions of the company back to her regarding the start date of the policy or receiving documentation whichever is the later…My documents were dated 22/07 which resulted yet again with my call been on hold whilst she checked the dates’.

All in all its been a horrendous experience with this company and I would never dream of using it again nor recommending them to anyone – if anything I’d happily tell them to stay clear. This experience has left me £78.00 out of pocket which in all honesty I’m not happy about(not much to some but its not the point). I was mis sold the insurance and ‘quoting’ (if you can call it that) £150.00 compulsory excess online is false advertising. If there had been an accident I’d of unknowingly been £950.00 out of pocket – I’ve been driving around with 2 children in my car, luckily nothing happened but if it had I don’t actually know what I would of done as I don’t have a spare £950 just kicking around to throw out on excess which should be £150.00.

Quote A - Car Insurance Review

I have been with Quote A for roughly 4 months now. They offered me the cheapest premium in hindsight of 0 NCB and 9 points on my licence and at 23 years of age so I gladly took upon their quote.

To be fair, the company covers me well and I have not had any major problems. However, as they say, you get what you paid for.

One of my main disappointments is the customer service when you try get in touch. Regardless of time, I always find myself on hold for a few mins and every call to Quote A is at least 20-30 mins long, 15 mins on hold which is dismal. The other thing is that they seem to charge for anything in regards to the premium. I recently got a new job in a different city and had to move address. Though it was a nicer town and safer area, I was charged £80 to change address which I did not understand, nonetheless I still paid as I was signed into a 12 month contract with them. I was then in a car accident on the A1 motorway where my car rolled off-road and clashing with another vehicle. When I told them about the accident and had bought a new car of same spec, I was charged around £80 to change the vehicle on my policy.

I'm writing this to just make people aware that Quote A are not customer friendly, its a matter of maintaining business for them i've been with other insurances before and have never been charged for some of the things named above, especially change of address. As I said he cheap price is justified in the poor customer service, however, end of the day its cheaper, so it depends on what you value the most.

Bit Of A Joke

Where do i start, They lure you in through the comparison sites with a cheap quote and everything is fine at that point, its when you've accepted the quote then you have to call their customer service when it all falls apart.

The customer care is the worst i have ever spoke to, i called to get switch over quote to another car and they could not give me one there and then which is a little inconvenient but they said they would call me back which never happened 4 times they said they would call me back and never did! not only that but the attitude of the staff is really bad and i don't know how they get away with being so rubbish.

Would Rather Have Driven Uninsured!!!!!

This is the worst company I have dealt with. I was with them for 1 year. It took me 3 months to get the additional drivers okayed by them. In the mean time I was receiving letters saying my insurance was to cancel if I did not sort this. When I got my renewal quote it went up for no reason. I was paying £1400 a year and it went to £1600. They couldn't tell me why. I done a compare search and got a quote for £720. I then asked for proof of no claims to be emailed to me as it was much more convenient. My insurance ran out on 3rd December 2013. It is now 9th of December and I have yet to receive and email or a letter. I have rang them and there excuse was that there 1 printer wasn't working. I ASKED FOR A DAM EMAIL! Anyway I relayed my disgust and they said my new can call them for my proof of no claims. O and the take on average 12 minutes to answer a call

In a nut shell... No. Just no

Declared no ncb, endor5ement5, etc. Didn't follow the cheaper option a5 Quotea had all the option5 ticked, ie legal cover etc.. followed the option5 and wa5 given a phone no. and quote code. They then went thro' the detail5 and ju5t before going to the payment plan turned around and tried to up my quote by 40%. They 5aid that it was the norm that in5urance provider5, a5 I'd pa55ed my te5t 3 year5 ago a55umed I'd been driving on 5omeone else5 policy and had provided a di5count for it. I hadn't declared my5elf a5 being on 5omeone else5 and feel this was ju5t a ploy to get more money out of me. AS I work for a Vehicle recovery Service they would only give me cover if I got a letter from my bo55. It' 5 my car, my policy and nothing to do with the people I work for. avoid the5e 5cammer5 at all cost5. I eventually followed the cheaper option 5ervice XK at Onequotedirect.added legal and wind5creen cover and it 5till worked out cheaper than going with Quotea. Al5o without alot of ha55le. Discusting!

I took a policy out with this company unfortunately, then as i didn't get the car i had to cancel my policy 7 days later i called up to cancel only to find i had to pay a admin charge of £150 and had to write a letter in writing to the company! By the time they probably got the the letter the 14day refund policy would have been up! Disgusting rip off company regret going with them never again.
