After having an accident and the other party omitting liability as they hit us and no claims being made by either side they still decided to put up the price of our insurance based on this fact...

My Car Was Stolen Through My Fault Of My Own But Y
My car was stolen through my fault of my own but you'd have thought I did it the way I was treated. They offer you a pittance to replace your car. They will screw you over. They will not treat you as a valued client. Do yourself a favour and steer well clear. These people are out to fleece you. All they want to do is screw you down until you accept their worst offer, nothing you can buy a car with!!! steer well clear!!!

Diabolical! Avoid At All Costs
Insured my car fully comp Aug 2013 as had best deal, my car was written off Jan 2014 (other driver admitted full liability) the solicitors they use are equally as useless, still injured can't walk without crutches and im relying on NHS as apparently there's no private treatment in my area. I had to pay up my insurance in full in Jan even though I did it monthly, I even had to pay my own excess, they advised me to get a hire car & bill it to other guys insurance to hurry things along as by Mid March nothing sorted, later that 1st day of having hirecar Enterprise ring me to say otherside admitted full liability day after accident...I was never told this even though i rang Chaucer weekly for updates so I looked a fool! Its now Aug 2014 & had an email saying my renewal starts today. ..well how when I've had no correspondence, my car is scrapped, and thought I'd finished dealing with you in May so now I have to ring Chaucer again. ...great!!!
Good Luck Dealing With Chaucer
I had to deal with the claims department about damaged caused by a lorry insured by Chaucer. It took weeks to resolve and not to my satisfaction, The lorry driver denied all knowledge of the incident even though I had two witnesses who spoke to the lorry driver but Chaucer were not interested. They had no interest in what I had to say and would not answer three simply questions just the same bland response.

No Refund Or Good Will Gesture
Very dissapointed when I sold my VW Camper as on cancelling the policy (obviously not needed) I was not offered any refund or good will gesture even though the policy was less than 3 months old...I was told well that just what we do and its written in your policy document...written in the document or not thats bad practice, and not good customer care, thanks for nothing!

Cancelled Car Policy Whilst In Eu
I took out F/Comp car cover with Chaucer through Swinton on 1st November 2013.
Swinton were ok. I was planning a trip to Spain using the car the next month, December 7th. I had already enquired about the 90day limit out of the UK and enquired if this could be extended as I had more trips planned. I did not get a reply. I wrote Chaucer without result. I then e mailed Chaucers CEO and asked if he could look at this. I eventually got a reply and spoke to Swinton who informed me on 18th FEBRUARY 2014, the policy had been cancelled by Chaucer, giving no reason. If they had not rang me I would have been uninsured driving around Spain. I was shocked and very upset. Swinton immediately organised fresh cover for me. I had paid Chaucer over £400 and they were to give me back £150. They are robbers, dont do business with them. If I had been stopped by the police or worse been involved in an accident I would have been totally screwed.

NEVER IN OVER 20 YEARS HAVE I BEEN SO FUMING AT A INSURANCE COMPANY.
TRYING TO TELL ME I DON'T LIVE WHERE I LIVE WHEN I HAVE PROVIDED ALL DOCUMENTS REQUESTED. LICENSE, BILLS, LOGBOOKS, COUNTERPART EVERYTHING.
IN OTHER LITERALLY CALLING ME A FRAUD.
I HAVE NEVER ACTUALLY WRITTEN A REVIEW BEFORE FOR ANYTHING BUT THIS HAS MADE ME EXTREMELY ANGRY AND DISAPPOINTED AND FELT AS IF I HAD TO DO THIS.
NEVER EVER USE THEM! I WOULD RATHER WALK IN THE SNOW THAN HAVE A CAR INSURED BY THEM!
